Hello

Strangely I cant find a good explanation to either these questions in any of my textbooks, CSU, etc.

1) Drawing p and n type semiconductor band structure. Sure i can do the stanard smaller gap than insulator but what is the diff between n and p structure?

2) A clear explanation of how solar cell works. I understand photoelectric effect, i would just say photoelectric effect > liberates electrons > attracted to p type cous of holes > current flows > hot water:p

Love an explanation or web address
Cheers

Photoelectric effect liberates electrons from the n-type semiconductor layer and it flows to the p-type and into an external circuit, and back to the n-type layer. The flow of electrons means a conventional current is made in the other direction.
