and stazi im curious to know what you did after missing out last year - did u end up losing a year or did u do the comm subjects in your current degree?

yep. i did com (lib) subjects in my current degree. if i transfer to commerce i effectively lose a year. if i transfer to com lib, im sweet

Hey Stazi, I mentioned this in another thread but it's been overlooked - do the univerisities look at how you have done overall in your first semester and second semester or they just want to know what is your overall GPA?

Your GPA is a measure of your overall marks over 1st and/or 2nd semester (if transferring after a year).

The only difference I gather is in the method of measuring, ie WAM vs GPA vs UAI + GPA/WAM.

GPA doesn't take individual marks into account, rather just the 'bands' which you get, whereas WAM takes individual marks over credit points (iirc).

and yes, most unis will want your UAI and GPA. A Non-recent school leaver rank is calculated based on 50% of your UAI and 50% of your GPA converted to a percentage (e.g. a distinction average [6.0GPA] is 96, or whatever].

yeah, last year i was trying to find places, but most of them (i.e. gas stations) get them after 9 - from about 10pm, from memory
