Hmm well, I don't really want to be a bodybuilder, I just want my fitness back. I don't need muscle bulk to look menacing, I just need to shed some jelly.
I want your jelly, give it to me. *Grabs a spoon*

Wha..what ya'll lookin' at? 0_o

Okay, here's a lil few guiders for weight loss:
- Run in the morning on an empty stomach.
- Eat often, and in small amounts to regulate your metabolism.
- Take incidental exercise seriously. E.g walk instead of driving, take the stairs instead of the elevators etc.
- Cut out carbs after 6pm.
- Have a cheat day each week, where you can eat whatever the fuck you want. (Man, these days rock).
- Drink plenty of water
- Eat foods high in protein and fibre.
- Lift weights. You'll get some muscle development of course, which again boosts your metabolic rate.
- Don't go into anything with the word 'fad' in it.

Doing situps helps burn fat around the abdomen faster doesnt it?

I'll also recommend 30 mins on the exercise bike while watching Frasier or Seinfeld. It's so easy.

Yeah, but generally people don't take up a sport to lose weight.

Nah, that's a myth. You can't spot reduce fat. Doing situps doesn't burn fat off your stomach. Doing bicep curls doesn't burn fat off your arms. Doing squats won't burn fat off your thighs. These exercises only stimulate muscular hypertrophy.. the physiology and metabolism of fat are independent, if ya get my drift. The only way doing situps would help is that they help build you muscle.. and of course any additional muscle mass anywhere on the body will help you burn fat.

Yes, the body doesn't look at which muscle groups are being used frequently or more intensely and say "let's burn fat there" - lipid energy is liberated evenly throughout the body.

doesn't the excess fat surrounding organs tend to disappear first though?

I'm around 5'6 and 78kg, with a slight annoying gut. I gotta reach 80kg before December (easiest way is just to fuck the shit out of my legs cause my quadriceps and hamstrings are lacking compared to upperbody). My goal is to reach 95kg in another 1 or 2 years.. and that's probably the highest I'll be able to go without taking roids or somethin'. Oh, and it sucks being short.
And SHIT Justin, you're pretty damn underweight. I swear I've seen a pic of you somewhere here on the forums, but you don't look lanky enough to be a 65kger at 6 foot.

I think my problem is that during the HSC I really didn't sit down for proper meals apart from dinner.

Yeah, that could of screwed you up pretty bad. I'm not sure exactly what the average weight for a 6 feet male is.. but it's around 75 or somethin':confused:

BTW for all the gymgoers here I saw someone (undoutably a freaky powerlifter) leg press 340kg today. What a fucking nut!!!!!!
