I"ve got my assessment day for RAAF tomorrow, has anyone got any advice? the job description on the website is not really helpfully, and what does the 'combat role' in my pre assesment day interview on the phone, she asked me that and i was like ah.... is that.. nah i dont know. cheers

Congrats, i'm still waiting for my assessment day, had my YOU back in july, still havent got a word about it, rang them up yesterday, they gave me the usual responce "your on the priority list for an assessment day" its what i've been hearing from them for ages, i have a feeling that they RAAF...

Personally, i should have done a gap year (to get centrelink :)), altho i dont regrett going to uni straight away, if u can get into uni and hold a place, then think about deferring if u realy want to, but it depends on what ur mates r doing, if they're doing the same course as you and same...

when do they have to do all the assessment days by? its been about 2 months since my YOU session, and they r still putting my application thru, is it normally that long?

even if u do a barts and become a pilot ui still become a pilot out of it, so when u leave your job isn't going to be based on ur degree, your more likely to become a pilot than journalism (if u do arts), be careful tho, coz arts is alot of essay writing and critical thinking, if u struggle...

I graduated in 2007, however in WA we r 17 when we graduate, so its the same (for me) as if i graduated in 2008 in NSW. I dont think it would hinder u doing it, well i hope not, but i know some people that have done it a year out of school and they said its fine. should be a good yr, good luck.
