Hi
I'm doing a degree in the Vet Sci faculty but a friend that is doing B. Arts (or maybe Liberal Arts & Science) told me that their "fulltime" load (48 credit points) requires only 12 contact hours per week..
Is that true?!!
I am shocked.. mine is 24 hrs p/wk plus some extra hours later in...
I'm doing B. Animal & Veterinary Bioscience
I already KNOW that I will have to miss 2 days of classes; to do a practical component of a TAFE evening course that I am also doing..
What are the attendance requirements for uni?
I've heard people talking about 90% - is that for lectures, pracs or...
Hmm, I did see one room advertised recently for $90.. looked okay in photographs.. but you're right, on Domain.com.au the only places you can get for that price are in boarding houses...
You can get a room or a small flatette / bedsit place for about $150 upwards.
I'm hoping to sit the STAT this year to apply for Vet Science..
I know the website says you must have a STAT score >150 to be considered for entry.. others say you need >170 to really be considered/eligible for Vet Science.
Could those that have gotten into Vet Science please shed some...
I know I'll find this out when the timetables are released on 19th Feb.. but I'm impatient..
Can anyone tell me what building the agriculture subjects for B. AnVBSc will be held in? (Rural Environment, Climate & Environment etc)
I see that the new faculty office is at Australian Technology...
You're mad for paying $350+.. is that a room / share accom; or do you get your own (decent to nice) flat?
I would suggest renting a room or a bedsit (i.e. tiny studio) at Glebe or Erskineville/Newtown (Erskineville is a bit more 'villagey' feeling, I quite liked it there). Those places are...
I don't think that anything that I've said is racist, and I've completely justified the reasons I am concerned.. it's nothing personal against international students, I just know I have a different personality and lifestyle to the majority of them; and would 'click' better at a uni where there...
Animal & Vet Bioscience for 1 yr (ATAR 84.05) and then hopefully a transfer into the 'real' vet science..
and (to AM_092).. yes I rang admissions to ask them what the TES was roughly equivalent to (when looking at ATARs or UAIs) and the guy looked up my UAC reference number, told me my...
I think that the scaling of the HSC at TAFE is exactly the same as it is through high schools.
I don't think it would be any easier or harder. The teachers would possibly treat you (only slightly) more as adults.. but you also lose out on the massive social benefits and cool things about high...
Well I'm the "xenophobe" that has an issue with too many international students, and guess what.. yes, I once did Mandarin classes voluntarily.. nothing to do with work or studies. I did suck at it though and have forgotten every word :-)
My sister kinda ran Air China so I tagged along to...
I found out my "Selection Rank" at Sydney University today (I spoke to Admissions). Basically this is the equivalent of an ATAR.
My RAW average mark in the TPC was 87.
My SCALED average mark was 86.6.
My TES was 260/300.
My selection rank is.... 94!!!! The admissions guy told me that the...
hey
thanks for that.. i think my first preferences will be for sydney uni after all.. the campus and historical aspect really won me over after attending the 2nd open day. i'm not the kind to totally immerse myself in my books and study; so social aspects and the campus grounds really help...
Agreed- though of course I am the 'xenophobe' from the other thread.
I understand that international students are very important to bring in money; and all of our uni's would probably be pretty shit without them... but UNSW just has far too many international students. Perhaps many of them...
I went to the Info Day for both unis (after having been to the Open Days in Sept/Oct or whenever that was)..
Have decided on Syd Uni mainly because of the general feel of the campus, though the atmosphere (i.e. prospective students, and the volunteers) was significantly better at Usyd. UNSW...
TAFE can now print up your transcripts (though I was told that some people received them in the mail yesterday). It has your scaled results on there, and your TES.
Your raw marks are scaled up or down, according to how you went in the subject compared to others; and if the subject is an easy...
