Do you play sports on the weekend?

It is called having a life, if you are uni studying 7 days a week, you are doing it wrong.

Do you bring your textbooks to Tutes?

Usually your tutor will inform you as to whether you need to bring it to classes. In my experience it can be good to bring it, either to find answers or look like you are reading when silly questions are being asked.

Anyone else forgotten everything they learned in the HSC before uni?

You will be surprised how fast it comes back once you start studying.

Missed ATAR Cut-off for my DREAM course by 0.05!?!

You will find nearly all business degrees have the same subjects in the first year. Just get into a Business Admin course or something in the Business discipline with a lower enter score. Do well in the first year and transfer into Commerce. You have nothing to worry about to be honest.

    Best time to attented Tutorials/lectures?

As mentioned in a thread...transport plays a big part....getting home early or late can not be fun. I find the evening tutes / lectures have more matured aged students...coming from work etc. Early morning, might not be as many students due to people not liking early starts after a night of...

    Tutes question

Depends on how far you have to travel...getting home at 8pm on a freezing winters evening is not fun. I would recommend afternoon tutes...sure you get a lot more students but you get home at a decent time before the traffic.

    Choosing subjects.

Yes correct you don't need to do them in order. However if you have a subject with a prereq you must do them in order, for example Accounting 1 in first semester Accounting 2 in second semester you can not do them in reverse which is just common sense.

    asssumed knowledge

It might help to brush up on your mathematical skills, they will not be going over the maths in the course content. If you are absolutely terrible at maths then maybe brush up on your skills. However if it is not a pre-req it is unlikely to be difficult maths. Not something you should be...

    Making friends at University?

Go to all the open days, orientation whatever you call it. It is likely you will end up talking to a few people.....and then what uni starts you will likely run into them and start talking again. At uni there is a big gap in becoming friends and just the casual hello, you have to find some...

    Are grades really THAT important?

Nearly half way through my degree (Commerce). Have already started looking at grad jobs just for my own personal interest and have seen something I do not like. It appears that most firms taking on graduates wont a 5+ GPA, I am currently on 4.50 half way through my degree. So it got me thinking...

    The Pay Thread

Got a job interview in a couple of days for a Shell service station. I am 18 and the shifts are likely to be 12 to 6 at night. Surely being at night the pay will increase a little. Anyone know what the pay will be?

Police shoot teenage boy dead in Northcote

The police have nothing to answer for here, having some lunatic with a knife towards you making threats is a pretty scary situation. Which would you rather, get stabbed and possibly die or live? Pretty easy choice. Offcourse the police didn't shoot him in the arm or leg, its difficult as...

    Working at a bank

Not really interested in further study, I would rather just find a job and work my way up to the top end. I have heard that banks often look for people who have just completed their yr12 studies. Does/Has anyone work at a bank?, How did you get the job? and what did you do/like ect? Seems...

    Bloody teachers!!!

My advice would be to let a few of your girl friends know this and see if they notice this in any other classes that he teaches. If anyone reports the same thing occuring then you should go the principal or any teacher that you trust.
