    Studying Translating??

Soo I'm thinking of taking up Postgraduate Diploma of Translating (part time). Has anyone done any translating units at UMac before? I'm just wondering if all lectures are recorded, if lecturers are decent (especially for Japanese) and if UMac has ok reputation in this area of study. TIA :wavey:

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

Theres some boys in my discrimination tute, but with law i think theres more girls than boys in general? not sure. second structure does seem better b/c there is a high likelihood that bus org will not be taught by him. but your sem 2 subjects (for both first and second) i havent done any of...

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

maybe do bus org after this year? i heard from 2 of my friends that frank will not be teaching after this year. and for taxation you get 2% assignment (2 pages apparently?) each week to complete, so it does involve some work. im doing discrimination and the law atm - 10% cp, 40% essay, 50% take...

Desperately need advice from 3/4/5 year Law students

hey, sorry your plan didn't work out. i'm coping with 5 units/sem workload so far, its stressful but doable - but i think i'm only saying this cause 2 of the units i'm doing now have no course reader and there's no regular lecture/tutorial! i'm doing remedies atm, it's mind-numbingly boring...

well another lecture failed to record... the second one that's crucial for my upcoming assignment. and the lecturer hasn't even re-recorded the first one. i attended all the lectures but still it'd be nice to be able to re-listen to the important ones :(

just out of curiosity, what do people think of echo (the one that replaced ilecture)? personally i find it frustrating - last week and this week 2 lectures weren't recorded and one of them is relevant for the first assignment! /rant

Expectations of MQ Semester 1 2012?

this semester is going to be my hardest - i'll be doing 5 law subjects, volunteering and also working 1 day a week... readings are killing me already and looks like i'm going to have assignments coming out of my ears in few weeks. got to remind myself that its only 13 weeks plus 2 weeks of stuvac.

    My face

sleep for as long as your body needs, even if it means sleeping for more than 8 hours. switch all your skin care products to baby products or products that target extremely sensitive skin. idk how tough your skin is, but my skin is pretty thin and sensitive so using typical products like...

    MQ Chatter Thread

i didnt find law203 to be particularly difficult and the unit convenor makes really thorough lecture notes which helps. but when i did the unit students were assessed through hypothetical questions (as well as class participation) and i think that takes a little bit of getting used to. good...

Studying more than 14 credit points

i feel like ive done all the cruisiest electives out there... initially i was drawn to war law but found out it requires lot of weekly commitment. argh what happened to my days of just handing 2 essays per semester :(

Studying more than 14 credit points

for me i have to overload to finish my program on time and taking summer school is not an option because of timetable conflict between the summer school unit and one of my sem 1 units. so maybe something along those lines? dw they seemed pretty relaxed about it. i got my application approved...

Studying more than 14 credit points

im doing this next semester - i just took the form to academic adviser (there are 2 of them and which one you go to depends on your family name i think). i think if your gpa is above 3 and have good reason for overloading i dont think you should have any problem at all.

    LAW electives

well if this makes you feel better ... i dont think its possible to fail the unit and also if you are thinking of applying for aboriginal legal service internship (law 551) i think its useful to have studied the unit. but i do understand your concern. and i never thought bean bags are that bad...

    Session 3 (Summer School)

francesca is teaching remedies next year. i had her for family law - not the best lecturer but she provides really detailed lecture notes so hopefully it wont be too difficult (fingers crossed).
