    Session 3 (Summer School)

WOW... you really don't demand very much from your lecturer/tutor. haha maybe what ticks many people off are different from what ticks me off. im happy as long as lecturers aren't harsh markers and they don't grill students in tutorials :haha: btw thanks so much for the electives guide Atlas! i...

    LAW electives

dynasty - ive done Indigenous Peoples and the Law before. assessment structure consisted of class participation and 2 essays. anne isnt the best lecturer/tutor so you have to study on your own but readings are light and both cp and essays are marked leniently. and contents are actually...

    Session 3 (Summer School)

im so curious about this now! from my memory rafiq was decent - assignments weren't too difficult and they weren't marked harshly. the only things i got annoyed were he didn't put lecture overheads available on blackboard and reading list sometimes included articles that couldn't be accessed...

    Handbook Terminology Help ("Xc"???)

thanks Pwar for pointing that out. it might be wiser to get more information about how the unit is run.. at the moment im liking the sound of it (i checked the timetable and there is an on-campus session 1 hour/week) so i hope the tutor/lecturer isn't harsh! how are you finding oxford btw?

    Handbook Terminology Help ("Xc"???)

ahhhh thanks! cant believe i missed that when i was looking through the mq website. that sounds more cruisy compared to regular internal units (i know its not the most appropriate reason to choose a unit). and lol yeah. looks like a playboy mag :haha:

    Handbook Terminology Help ("Xc"???)

hey, i'm thinking of enrolling in this unit that offers "Xc" mode as well as "X" mode. i know that "X" stands for external but what does "Xc" (external composite) stand for? does anyone know? also is Xc better than X or does it make no difference? i tried looking up handbook but i couldn't find...

    Session 3 (Summer School)

i dont think its a death sentence to do juris and bus orgs at once - its obviously going to be more challenging than taking juris with a less demanding core subject like law, lawyers and society but i think it can be done without too much stress. like atlas says its better to get these units out...

    Session 3 (Summer School)

this. lol. he picks on some students more than others, and he moves some students that he thinks aren't contributing to the front row and picks on them all the time. it just puts students on more pressure than they need to.

    MQ Semester 2 Results

PSY 336 (personality) / P LAW 460 (international trade and finance) / Cr LAW 456 (business organisations) / P :headbang: LAW 452 (family law) / D (81) :spzz: im so SO SO happy that i got a P for bus org because i screwed up the final exam pretty badly - i never had a unit where i didnt know...

    Session 3 (Summer School)

i actually think torts make constitutional law look like a pansy in terms of difficulty:p when i did it students were only assessed through 2 essays so basically you only needed to do readings that are relevant to your essay topic (plus your own research) so it didn't require much time/effort...

    Session 3 (Summer School)

i agree with what Atlas stated above. law 316 is more like contracts compared to law 317 cause it more clear cut. law 317 is more like torts because equity is really waffly (thats what i felt like when i studied it). both are quite different so i dont think not having done law 316 disadvantages...

    Session 3 (Summer School)

hey, if shayne is teaching the unit its likely to be assessed through class participation (may include presentation), an essay and a take home exam because its been like that for all the units i had with her (including property and equity) and when i asked her about assessment structure of a...

    New Library!!

well i went to the library at 9am this week and there were more than plenty of spots.. but then i've never really been to the library during its peak hours so i guess spots fill up pretty quickly. i decided not to study in there anyway because i feel like the environment isn't as conductive to...

thinking of taking 2 units during summer - any advice?

holy fuck i cant imagine doing juris, equity and bus org at the same time... admin law is pretty relaxed though. is there any way you can mix up the order of things?

thinking of taking 2 units during summer - any advice?

hey, theres not much overlap between the 2 unit but if i were you i'd avoid doing it during summer school? i remember law317 being much harder than law 316 (and my friends agreed) and i feel like having done law 316 prepared me for this unit (not in terms of content, but in terms of gradual...

thinking of taking 2 units during summer - any advice?

well for me its a tossup between foundation of commercial law and international human rights law ... and im leaning towards commercial law because i heard shayne is taking this unit this time and because i think i've been taking to many "airy fairy" units lately. i hope it doesnt have sit down...

thinking of taking 2 units during summer - any advice?

alrightie since im not a time management pro i might stick with 1 unit. i feel like getting stressed as i am now is enough... thanks for the input ameher :) also is on campus session really intense? ive never done this sort of thing (as im a full time on campus student) so it'd be great to know...

thinking of taking 2 units during summer - any advice?

well i heard summer school cram a lot in relatively short period of time so i wondered how people managed taking 1 or 2 units from there (i.e. level of stress, time spent on preparing for assignments) compared to regular semester... because if most people say that its really full on then thats a...

thinking of taking 2 units during summer - any advice?

hey, as the title suggests im thinking of taking 2 law units during summer - specifically im thinking of redoing one unit from 200 level which i only got a P (61) in (which is kinda important for what i want to do) and one unit that i haven't studied from 400 level (i'm in my 4th year and i need...
