    Well, some of the greatest countries in the world are constitutional monarchies. For whatever reason (perhaps that for any power-hungry government, they have to remember that they are not actually top of the food chain) they seem to work better than the republics of the world.

    I don't mind the political discussion that occurs in my classes, but I can't imagine joining for instance the young libs. Tho I do want to get into doing mooting for legal. If the nats don't perform at the next election, the libs will probably get rid of them / absorb what's left of the party.

    Personally I dunno if politics has really become stale... I mean there are so many huge things that are happening at the moment, I think it's more an affect on newer members... i.e. students who are currently apathetic.

    Definately agree. Maybe that's another reason why this thread has died down... has the government taking control of the senate and little sign of any real political change for the next 4 years made commentary much more boring?

    For sure once Moonlight leaves, this forum will be radically different. The only problem is this is currently the best / (only) place to talk politics with a bunch of people your age, doing the same things (basically) as you (other than in uni), so where does that leave those of us who love...

    Our perspectives have become much closer and our respect for one anothers views has increased. There are few new people comming in that are participating and presenting radically different perspectives. Maybe it's partially our fault

    I imagine mathmite is anti-free trade, believing that we can produce most of what we need in australia and need to stop importing from overseas.

    That's why I think he's a Nazi Fascist. You just have to look at his views on free speech, his racism, his nationalism etc etc To me the views he expouses are the same as those of fascist nazi's in 1930's germany

    Which policy from the greens do you favour? Personally, from reading what you have written in the past, I believe you are a nazi fascist. I know this is usually simply an insult thrown around by people on forums, but looking at your views on various things this is the conclusion i've come to.
