Modern rock is pathetic, we rule - Kiss

It's got to do with a general preference for singing. RATM's a bit angry for me, and while I like angry music in the gym, it's not repetitive enough to jog to.

Would you ever have a relationship with a fat person?

Nope. There is an acceptable limit, but they need to be fit so it's not a very high limit at all.

Modern rock is pathetic, we rule - Kiss

Heh my post made its point. Some peoples' music tastes are impossible to understand. The thing is that lots of people like modern rock, however we define it. I don't know whether or not this is enough to give it real staying power, though. It seems to be targeted at spoiled teenagers of the...

Modern rock is pathetic, we rule - Kiss

I like em. I like em lots. Admittedly not as much as their parent bands but still infinitely more than the vast majority of music out there. Guess what else? I liked ST ANGER! I PREFER AUDIOSLAVE TO RATM. FUCK YOU ALL!

Modern rock is pathetic, we rule - Kiss

Bit rich coming from Kiss. But they do have a point. It feels like classic music has been and gone. For good music our kids will turn to Led Zeppelin, just like we did, because there is nothing even remotely of that calibre today. What does our generation have to give to music? Edit: I...

    Education Not Indoctrination

Seriously, cracking down on BIAS? Everyone is biased. Departments have bias as a collective. Courses will be biased. Things are included and excluded, given greater teaching time, supported and criticised based on the slant of the course coordinators. It's a fact of life, a fact of TEACHING...

    Education Not Indoctrination

Re: Education, Not Indoctrination: continued People have opinions (OMYGOD SOMEONE NOTIFY THE AUTHORITIES!) and they may differ from your own. At uni you're not going to be penalised for challenging a lecturer's opinions in an assessment, as long as you've got the stuff to back it up. They...

    changing lanes

What the hell, that's the worst time to do it because cars are close together. So you're moving into a small gap with no notice, which is dangerous. YOU MUST TELL PEOPLE WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO DO. It's so easy and it shits me to tears when people can't do it properly.

    Semester 1 Chatter Thread (2008)

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread Ack, all my units this semester trade off hours for assessments, so I spend less time at uni but I have eleventy million assignments. I'm still having fun, though, and haven't slept in ANY uni class yet. That's progress.

    police radar detectors!!

What do you mean? Yes, it is picking up signals. It can't tell the difference between a police radar and a mobile phone, and the latter is what you're getting most of the time. It's useless.

    The Buyer's Remorse Thread

I think we've decided "BOO to shoes that seem comfy and nice in the store, only to blister or just not fit when we get home. BOO."

    changing lanes

I'm a fucking awesome driver. Partly because I think everyone else is a shitty driver, so I'm always prepared for them to do something stupid.

    Liar, Liar, Tyres on Fire

You need third party person insurance, so if a person gets injured their medical costs are covered. As you can see, though, property insurance is very useful, too. You can say it's a ripoff, but then something like this happens and you'll be thankful you've got it. While you're a young driver...

    changing lanes

I HATE that. People need to indicate BEFORE they start moving. We can already see what you're doing, we need to know BEFORE you do it. grrr. One of my pet peeves. It's so easy to indicate, and it's so useful and makes things safer, I can't believe people don't do it.
