    Union Board Elections 2008

Note to self- Do not walk through Wentworth on election day. If you must, bring some of those giant padded sticks like they have in gladiators. Or fire or something.

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

This is true. And to tie it all back to the topic, Arts creates opportunities into the non-traditional employment sphere. This is why some people think that it has no prospects, because there is no direct path from arts into a specific strand of work. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Check...

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

ALSO, you need more than a law degree to be a lawyer. You need a separate certificate to practice law.

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

This person had never been a lawyer before. So it's not like she quit her law job and became a cleaner. She never had a law job, she needed to pay the bills so she did some part-time cleaning work. It's not that hard to believe. Law students have part-time, non-degree-related jobs, right? Is...

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

Haha read the post "The lack of direction was the reason I transferred out of Arts". I'm doing a B.Ed (primary) now. A liberal studies degree involves arts subjects, science and language. Also, www.cis.org.au/issue_analysis/IA84/ia84.pdf At any given time, the total number of...

    Gossip Girl

I believe this is correct. I think a lot of people thought that ep 13 was the end of the season. Not so.

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

Not everybody knows what they want to do when they're 17-18. For these people, Arts makes perfect sense. But I do understand your point. The lack of direction was the reason I transferred out of arts and into something much more career-oriented. It was good, though, because doing arts...

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

Yes because people don't like to think about uni while they are in year 12...? What? It's good to plan ahead, to know what you're in for. You're supposed to have your preferences before you get your UAI anyway (although you can change them completely later).

Liberal studies is just fancy arts haha. The moral of this story is, do what you want to do.

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

Getting a law degree doesn't guarantee you a career in law. Not even close. There are too many qualified people and not nearly enough actual jobs. If it's employability you're after, look at the booming professions/industries and go there.

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

I did a year of an arts degree, and I had a mid-90's UAI. It's a good degree to do just as a starter to uni, because you can do whatever you want. A bit too directionless for me, but some people love the freedom. It gives you time to decide what you want to do, whether that be another course...

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread That was my budgie's name. He's now an ex-parrot. But Ziggy is infinitely more amusing than a 10 year old budgie.

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

There are so many people in Australia with law degrees that they will never use, because we've got enough lawyers without the hundreds of graduates that come through every year. The cleaner at my old work had a law degree. Education, on the other hand, has a relatively low UAI...

why do people think B arts = unemployment??

Arts is not like education, or engineering, or nursing, where the degree leads you directly into a career. I think most B. Arts people end up tacking a Dip. Ed on the end of their degree and becoming teachers.
