General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

It was easy but I didn't like the comprehension that much. Either I was blind or the texts weren't rather obvious for discovery.

It really depends how far off your concept is though. I answered a textual integrity question using moral ambiguity & corruption and got like 8 or 9 /15.

I think its easier to get the easy 2 marks. Skip a maximum of two Q's if you do run out of time though, since most of the time they ask for a comparison between two texts.

I agree, the discoveries in the texts were very stretched out and nitpicked. What texts are you doing for each module? I'm wondering if we did the same questions. A: W;t & Donne B: Hamlet C: BNW

At least 70% of the state is fucked if they ask for two honestly. Has anyone tried out the 2016 Art of Smart practice papers? For Paper 2 I barely understand the questions given.

I almost forgot. Is it necessary to have quotes/references to specific productions? Our teacher literally told us on the last week that we should refer to productions. I'm guessing it is more necessary for textual integrity focused questions. edit: this is for mod b

    Any advice will be appreciated!!!!

You have a lot of time left during the year to drop it. Hell, if you have at least 12 units you can drop it before your trials if you're doing bad.

what does "context" mean in essay question?

How does the environment of the story or the character's environment influence their process of discovery. Does it modify it? Keep it strict? Allow freedom?

for Those memorising an essay/is this an okay essay plan for this module? (P&P)

you can mention the savage reservation in opposition to the World State, how its initially perceived freedom isn't all that free, since the religious practices are retrospectively very common with how the World State controls, albeit its not by human administration, but by nature.

I'm doing 2: DBNP & Hymne. My teacher said they're too similar/popular so she suggested changing my poem. I'm not sure whether I should since it's the essay I've been using for more than half the year. I didn't even get time to do 2 poems in trials so I don't have an accurate indication.

The current HSC allows people to easily come back from bad results, and gives the "once lazy, now working very very hard" i.e. reformed students a chance to get a good ATAR. (this part is probably a bit too skewed) It also award those who are good at rote (bar maths) and taking it seriously only...

Since my creatives have been notoriously bad throughout the year, what marking criteria do/did you set yourself to indicate that it's a good creative? Is it that it can fit 1 or 2, or most of the syllabus? It's easily adaptable? I'm deciding whether to prep my creative and create a story...

Generally, as said on the site, you can't do a HSC course without satisfactorily finishing the Prelim course, so I'm not sure you can dodge prelim content. You can also try TAFE. TAFE condenses a lot of content in one term, and it may be helpful for you. However I do not know if it's a viable...

it honestly worked for me during half yearlies. it depends on how you modify your sleep pattern accordingly. what i did was wake up at like 4pm every day, chill, then study until 4 or 6am. at that time, the weather was pretty chilly and quiet, which was what I liked about it. I'm not that...
