I had a look at the Good Uni Guide comparing usyd commerce with macq commerce. Usyd has better employment prospects than macq and even better salaries. What were you referring to?

Cumberland is alright. The good thing is you can drive to uni and parking isnt that expensive ($4 or $3 a day). There isnt much clubs or societies (except for religious groups) compared to camperdown but you're not really missing out on much, unless you love to party & socialise all the time...

Just curious as to whether there are any pre-2010 hsc people studying 1st year commerce or combined law this year? So this goes for transfer students, gap year students, maybe also people doing their second degree? would be nice to know im not the only one lol

why would you rather go macquarie than usyd?

What were the assessments like? A short quiz on a specific topic every tutorial? Someone had that for an equivalent subject at usyd.

How was orientation? What did you do? Did it take the whole day (9am-3pm)? And was it worth going?

No, apparently you cant use your required/core subjects as your people/planet. You would have to pick different people/planet subjects. Thats what i was told at enrolment but you can email the uni to make sure.

Will be doing law at MQ this year as well but can't make it to orientation cos its on a saturday and i'll be preoccupied with something else. Just wondering if it really matters which uni you get your commerce degree from. In terms of chances of employment, rate of pay etc. Or is commerce the type of degree where companies look for skills instead of what uni you went to? cheers

Just wondering why macquarie uni doesnt have a law faculty like all the other universities?

Neuroscience (Bios1171)- best if you go to all ur lectures. Lecture notes arent that helpful so maybe some extra reading in your spare time. Body systems structure and function (bios1170)- useful to have a colour printer. lots of pictures in lecture notes but its generally a very easy subject...

the test is really easy and straightforward. basically just comprehension stuff + some maths. But do it quickly or u might run out of time.
