    Scholarship Application Status question

Call or e-mail UNSW scholarships office or the relevant scholarship contact. Some scholarships might wait for your marks first as well so it might be tentative. Some scholarships might not even have interview stages, but that really depends.

Do you have to do the option syllabus the school gives?

It depends on how your school assessment is done. Consult your teacher first and see what they say about it. I was lucky enough that my teacher, a HSC marker, was willing and able to mark completely different option topics for all of us in an unbiased manner. Is your teacher willing to do the...

    Blood Donation?

It's like a bee sting and your arm might feel a bit numb while the blood is being pumped out. Make sure you have a lot of water to drink beforehand. Also, make sure you had a decent meal around 2 to 3 hours beforehand as well.

Struggling to choose between mathematics or general?

What careers are you looking at? If it's anything science or engineering related, then you would at the least want to be doing mathematics. Even in some areas of commerce, it would be much better for you to do at least mathematics.

    Differential equations

As an aside, there are many different techniques to solving differential equations and there are also different sets of tools for it as well. One could use the s-plane if they wanted. There are also ways of using differential equations for expressing system inputs and outputs, where solving...

Do you need lessons in order to pass the driving test?

Yeah I had 2 lessons and that was it. I pretty much taught myself to drive after the first 10 hours and my supervising driver did pretty much do nothing most of the time after the first 10 hours. If anything, they were more of a distraction lol.

    HSC Physics Marathon 2016

The HSC Physics Marathon is an open chain of questions between students. It works by answering a question then posting another question and allowing the cycle to repeat itself. Rules: - After answering a question, always provide a new one - this is what keeps the thread alive. - Allocate a...

    Learning prerequisite maths for Engineering

It would be good to know the basics of circle geo. Maybe you can go through that section quite quickly. Probability and occurrences is something you can use to get those extra marks in exams. It becomes more useful usually later on so if you have the time, have a look at it.

    Learning prerequisite maths for Engineering

The main thing is having that skill set that students attain from completing MX1 and MX2. There are quite a few things from most of both syllabuses that you will be able to gain experience from and also keep in handy for future understanding. However, there are also some sections which are not...

Re: HSC Physics - Exam Paper (download) "Explain how amplifiers and feedback loops are used in control systems. Support your answer with a diagram." Nice question, but I seriously doubt more than 25% of the Age of Silicon cohort could get full marks for this question. It's really hidden in...

    Really confused

At OP. For a start, why do have an interest in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Civil? You need to answer these for yourself and work out what you want to do most. They are different areas with quite a lot of different opportunities each. Where do you see yourself in the future? What do...
