    so I'm guessing in binomials with integration, you have to evaluate a DEFINITE integral?

    New to binomials here, for times when you have to integrate binomial expansions, what do you do about constants? do you evaluate them? if so how? + how do you do binomial induction? If there is such a thing....?

    well AC/AB = AB/BC therefore 1+x/x = x/1 therefore x+1 = x^2 Part (ii) looks scary..

    cos ALPHA = 1-t^2 / 1 + t^2 3/4 = 1-t^2 / 1+t^2 3 + 3t^2 = 4 - 4t^2 7t^2 = 1 t = +/- 1/(sqrt 7) but as ALPHA IS ACUTE t>0 therefore t = 1/sqrt(7) --> tan (alpha/2) = 1/(sqrt(7))] EDIT: would i get full marks for this solution in an exam?

    shit things for exam

    .... what is the point of making one of the most simplest things in 4U (a formula that is only 2pirh) into a complicated thing? I don't think I've ever learnt r+dx but im guessing it takes into the width of the thickness of the cylinder? AWARE me if i'm wrong, but i thought in 4 u they didnt...

    Is there any point in redoing the SAME HSC past paper?

    Just curious as to others' opinions - say like with really hard exams like 2006/2008, or just average exams like 2010, is there any point redoing the papers? I got like 60/84 for those 3 papers which i thought was pretty damn shit... :( So should I redo them to get familiar with them (i.e. i...

    Finding the greatest term in binomial expansions HELP NEEDED!

    Thankyou for the help math man, but I just have a few questions: On mathsonline.com.au, the guy in the video said you do T(k+1)/T(k) > 1 --> that is there is no inequality... I did a few exercises from the website and there were times where i got k < 6 --> i.e. a whole integer - and so I made k...

    Finding the greatest term in binomial expansions HELP NEEDED!

    Hi guys, new to binomials here, just wondering what you would do in these types of questions: 1. Find the greatest term in (1+3x)^7 if x = 2/5 2. Find the greatest coefficient in the expansion of (1+ (2/3)x)^10 So what do you do with these? Can someone please provide a solution of the...

    2001 HSC Ext1 Maths -- Q2 (c) part (ii) -- Permutations

    ^mind linking us with these solutions lol? I remember one of the solutions from this website: http://exampapers.web.fc2.com/ep/hsc.html#Extention 1 Solutions thought that 11-3 = 9.... and those are the only solutions I have access to. EDIT: Just noticed, the website spells extension as...

    2001 HSC Ext1 Maths -- Q2 (c) part (ii) -- Permutations

    Also Q7 (a) part (ii) --> I got x = 1- e^(-t), however the solutions state x = 1 + e^(t), could some please check up on this? Thank you!

    2001 HSC Ext1 Maths -- Q2 (c) part (ii) -- Permutations

    Quick question is the answer (5!)(4!)/2! = 1440 or (6!)(4!)/2! = 8640? I did (6!)(4!)/2! --> but the solutions say (5!)/(4!)/2!? If the solutions are correct, can someone please explain why? I thought you were meant to treat the 4 vowels as 1 letter, so you would have 6 'letters' instead of 9...

    HSC Mathematics Ext1 Paper 1999-2005 Solutions Needed

    1. Look at the top left hand side of the 2nd page. angle between two lines formula is 'apparently' m1 + m2 / 1 - m1m2 --> I would be willing to bet my left nut that the formula is tanA = m1 - m2/ 1+m1m2 Also if you look at the solution for Q2 d(ii) the exponential decay question --- the...
