asterix's take out the overall impact of the word- either use it in its full context, or dont use it all. Besides quoting (which you seem to have done)- i'd never use in a formal critical response- creative should be completely fine, providing the word is used in context- like in my ext 2 piece...

I thought it was excellent- it aimed to stop people with pre-prepared essays in their tracks- and will hopefully set the good from the wrote-learned crap- if only they did this in advanced!

6-7 for creative maybe? around 12 for critical- meh, I'm a slow and small writer... I could write a 40 pg essay on crime fiction if I had the time, lol

aren't the criteria for the extended-response type questions merely just guidelines?- especially with social and ethical issues- where one could apply as many as 10 of them to a given situation

I wrote a hard-boiled crime fiction involving cats and dogs. End of story.

It was a good exam- the use of pictures, while it took us all aback initially- is going to give a wide range of interpretative responses- which is especially needed for the Crime Fiction elective, which I do!

I mean, its not like IPT is a hard subject- and no-one got 100 last year... makes no sense I'm certainly aiming for 95+ lol, i aimed for 100 in the trial and only got 80 something- but i dont know about you ppl, but i found CSSA 2004 IPT my hardest exam- even harder than physics and maths...
