    Semester 1 Chatter Thread (2009)

I'd rate myself with C++ and C, Java I haven't written more than a couple of hundred lines in the last couple of years but could probably pick up again without much hassle. Do you have a name, Mr Goony? EDIT: Still studying for operating systems. 6 weeks worth of content make up one 15 mark...

Demolished Projects exam, 85% I needed for an HD in that subject looking probable.

Why do you talk about the LDP as if they have an effect upon anything?

    Australian Politics

It's within 3% of what's expect so it could well just be a rogue poll. That or it's not just one incident but a cumulative thing which have made people realise that Labor's not perfect and shift a lot of people back to their natural affiliations. Keep in mind that the $900 would be all but...

    Semester 1 Chatter Thread (2009)

Unsure, think it's chilblains because it only occurs in cold weather. I've had it previous winters but not the point where it's impaired my handwriting. Still attending my exam this arvo and tomorrow, but have a doctors appointment today and will get a certificate which I'll hand in if I think I...

What is your favourite web-based email?

Gmail, hotmail is ridiculous, covered in ads, puts ads in the signature of your email, lacks shitloads of features (such as conversations). I redirect it all to Mail.app anyway.

    semester 2 timetables

They're both fairly distinct branches of maths. Stats is stuff like analysing distributions, calculating correlations and looking for trends, whereas discrete looks at sets, boolean algebra and some basic logic stuff. Neither is going to be more or less difficult than the other, and what you...

Maths? If one of them's stats switch that out for discrete maths.

    semester 2 timetables

Pretty well, there were 5 telecomms positions and 8 software ones, with 9 applicants total. One table was the guys from the communications division who were talking about rolling out new radio system for the trains and their various monitoring systems for the tracks, then the other two were...

    semester 2 timetables

Nope, I think Geoffrey was encouraging us to start organising groups at his 'pizza party' after the last lecture for Projects but I had my meet and greet that afternoon. Speaking of which, is it just me or does the sample exam for that look deceptively easy?

    semester 2 timetables

Only prereq is INFO3402 so you'll be sweet. Yeah did it last year, didn't pay particularly huge amount of attention to it but it was very similar to a lot of discrete maths/graph theory stuff.

That is the worst timetable I think I've ever seen. Fuck yeah, Seaking. Not doing the math subject either just need special permission to pick up another monday/thursday subject.

As someone who's one subject away from attaining that degree, I'd heavily advise against it.

    NAB to introduce Muslim-friendly loans

Don't actually have an issue with this beyond the fact that it seems very much like cheating. The bank is still making the exact same money it would under a fixed interest loan, with the same kind of guarantees, repayments, etc, except they've just branded it something else to avoid falling...

Hit 70%ish in the exam and that should net you an HD. Point is nobody understands maths properly no matter what impression they give to the contrary.

http://www.library.usyd.edu.au/exams/science.html Past exam papers for 1901/1902 are available here. Multiple choice is usually fairly basic shit like "Which of these is the inverse of these guys" "What does this look like after row reduction" and "What are the eigenvalues?" EDIT: You don't...

This maths has no application. :( Most of this exam's going to be explaining concepts afaik.

    Semester 1 Chatter Thread (2009)

Call in sick, even if it means you have to lick toads to contract something, imo. Currently 15 lectures through a 39 lecture course and it's making a moderate degree of sense.
