SAT score is a good indicator, but only one of their criteria, you can get a good score but when you get to the interview room/phone or something with not many EC activities there's a good chance there's better candidates, you're against the best. what ECs have you been doing?

lol if you're good you can be successful without a degree from a prestigious Uni. If you're not then yeah you need a degree from a prestigious Uni. but yeah do shit loads of extra curricular activities, community service, debating, play some musical instruments, school captaincy, get work...

It would help if you have good programming skills and a good computing background will def help. Dont't worry about IPT and SDD, most of the stuff there are basics. But if you are willing to learn then you should be fine.

go UTS, i think u get industry training for a year. the cut off last year was pretty low around 83 ish and you get up to 5 subject Bp, more if you have EAS so its not that hard to get into, what was your ATAR? and don't bother with insearch, not really worth that much, if you cant get in go to Maq.
