    Sibling rivalry

I often wonder if the "fierce Asian rivalry" extend to Filipinos. Hell, the eldest sister got 92.45 and the younger brother got 60 and that goes to show that the parents aren't really strict at all. :o

Detention? Aren't we in 'big school' now?

Trouble makers should be punished but there should be an alternative to detention because they are not as effective as say, going around the entire school with a rubbish bag at recess and lunch to personally pick up everyone's rubbish. Or having to clean gum out from under desks. Manual labour...

    Biggest barrier

Just after seeing that the story about the girl and the pencils has caused some disturbance, there are some things I would like to clarify: a) There was no intention of trying to gratuitously exploit its shock value b) It should be viewed as a precautionary tale - not trying to undermine...

    Biggest barrier

I've lost my touch with words and structure in general. In year 7-10 I had no problems with the standard of my work and structure was so inherent in everything, but now even my famously large vocabulary is beginning to fail me. Nothing really flows anymore. But the good thing is that I don't...

    HSC and Family Pressure/Expectations

Re: Pressure From Parents My parents are really lenient, particularly for Asian parents. Well, the brother did get 60 UAI, so that just leaves me to beat my sister's 92.45. My brother is my motivation, and any pressure is coming from unreasonably high expectations from myself...
