yeh it does...the first question requires some manipulation....ie divide one side to get the value of 1..... the major axis is the "radius" along the x axis.. the minor axis is the "radius" along the y axis... this provides the elliptical level curve...

The equation has to make some sort of sense to be able to draw a level curve about it.... so it has to be a level curve that represents something...i.e. a circle, square etc...
