    Yes, the number is blanked out. My info was from 2004, then. Anyway, hope they increase the interstate quota this year. I agree that discriminating against students from other states is unfair, but then again, QLD unis do that a bit, e.g. JCU med and UQ provisional med entry...etc.

    for Med application... how much do you write?

    You can only type up the first few pages of the form, the other pages (your answers etc) must be hand written and signed. I don't think they use the form to determine the final rankings; the interview, UMAT and Yr 12 marks are given equal weighting for your final rank.

    It's on the UTAS med website (a bit large to post up); go to the 'admissions' section for 'future students'. We belong to the A2 applicants (5 places available).

    Back to the first questions. The word limit is 800 words (for 2003 anyway).

    Information from their Medicine Handbook. As for JCU, they don't take a lot of interstate/metro students either; students are mostly rural or from up north.

    There are only 5 places available for undergrad interstate students.
