    Benefits of taking advanced units?

No, I'm only taking these advanced units because I thought I had to. As in I thought they're compulsory for the advanced science degree.

    Benefits of taking advanced units?

Hi there, I'm currently an undergrad student doing Bc of advanced science and is taking the advanced math units for semister 1 (1901 and 1902). Right now I'm finding the lectures going a bit too fast, and I'm not understanding some parts fully, so I'm thinking of dropping from the advanced unit...

Hi all, the UAC preferences is closing soon so I have a couple questions I want to ask you guys. I'm looking at doing Science advanced and Engineering dual degree at UNSW, and I'm just wondering what would the career opportunity be like if I graduate? 2009 27 c

Yes the answers are correct. This is because: when the n-type and p-type are brought close together, the extra electrons in the n-type diffuses into the holes of the p-type, making the n-type slightly positive and p-type slightly negative. This allows an electric field to be created in between...

    Question from 9.1 in syllabus

Isnt this the one where you just have to know the contributions of a scientist? And yes it has been asked before, but only a 3 marker if I remember correctly. Goddard: -Prove rockets would work in vacuum and did not need air to propel against -Developed a rocket motor which uses petrol and...

    2012 HSC MC q20

First you estimate the peak wave length (8x10^-6), then using C=fλ work out the frequency: f = 3x10^8/8x10^-6 Then using the formula E=hf to find out the energy: E=3.75x10^13 x 6.626x10^-34 Then divide by 1.602x10^19 to convert from J to eV. Answer = 0.155 which B is the closest.

    Multiple Choice

For 17, weak acids do only partially ionise, but the reaction is an equilibrium reaction so every time the weak acids hydrogen ion is used to neutralise the base, according to Le Chatelier's principle the equilibrium will shift and release more hydrogen ion. This will continue until all the...

    Question about acidity of salts

Hey all, can someone explain to me why the salt NH4Cl is acidic? Is it because the Cl part could have came from HCl - which is a strong acid, hence the salt is acidic?

Question in regards to HSC mark and rank within school

I see. I'm wondering about this because for two of my subjects my final rank is in the 10-20s, while my trial ranks are both top 3. Just a bit worried that my final internal rank will affect my atar by a lot.

Question in regards to HSC mark and rank within school

Hi all, if I have a bad internal school rank (say 20/60), but in the actual HSC I do really well (3/60) would my school rank still be kept at 20th? Or will it move up according to my HSC rank within the school?

Teachers changing the marking guide line in trial exams!??

Yeah, I have considered that the given marking guidelines might be wrong, but I have shown it to my tutor and he has agreed that the given marking guidelines are right, and the answers that the teacher has changed to is wrong. And btw the question I'm talking about is the meissner effect one -...

Hi all, I've just got my physics trial exam back and I am pretty happy with it, but I realised that for one of the questions the marker has changed the marking guideline on the given "Independent marking guideline" at which my answer is just as stated on the actual guideline, but the marker has...

Should I drop before the trials??

Yeah, I'm actually pretty confident for the Chemistry trials.. I have also spoke to my science head teacher and he said that it is indeed possible for my rank to go up (even into the top 5s) if I do well in the trials, as he said the difference between the top 10 people are like 3-4 marks away.

Should I drop before the trials??

The thing is I'm 1 whole topic behind in Bio and have done no study for it what so ever - knowing the Biology trials is next week.. On the other hand, for Chemistry, I'm confident of getting around 85% - at which the trials is 50% of the internal marks
