As much as I'd like to say yes, I plan on finding me a single attractive intelligent female first year law student... They're not a myth are they??? I don't think I'm asking for that much ;)

In a nut shell, the quota has lots of restrictions... opening up that nut shell... the quota only allows you to do the first two law subjects. After that, provided you pass, you're in the law course and you can do any law units and fail as many as you want. However, if you fail either (or get...

Well done... I got the same call this avo. Just gotta wait and see if UAC gives me a better offer in the next few days.

    Timetabling first year law units

Thanks, that really helps. So are the law units usually recorded using i-lecture? Also, are the units ones where you really need to keep up to date or can you fall behind and catch up fairly easily?

    Timetabling first year law units

I'm going into third year of a commerce degree so I know that much. Last semester I had Monday 8am - 12pm straight for 2 Accounting lectures and it killed me. Although, I have had subjects where the classes finished relatively early to the allocated time or wern't so intensive which is why...

    Timetabling first year law units

The following questions are in regards to first year law units. Also, if you know anything about 2nd year law units, that would be helpful too. Do they do i-lectures? Would it be too much to do lectures and tutes back-to-back (i.e. 4 hrs straight)? Is it heavy stuff or would it be like...

I went and dropped in my application today... I don't trust Australia post... what if someone goes postal and loses my application... then I'm doomed to live the life of an accountant... lol We should know if we're in by the 20th January. As we have until the 27th to enrol in units, there...

Tabris, if you get in through the quota system, they won't let you do 200 level law units as co-requisites with the first year ones. In terms of your time table, just take up electives for the econ component. You should be fine... Don't worry until you have to.

Any idea how competitive this process is? How many positions available? When they allocate the majority of positions?... etc I wasn't given an offer in the preliminary rounds. However, the main round offers are released in mid january.

I have a feeling that they scale up your GPA and UAI somehow *it's the 'somehow' that I'm unsure about* I think that they weight the UAI with the GPA, depending on how many years or equivalent years have been completed to obtain the given GPA.

Does anyone know much about the UAC selection process for tertiary students trying to transfer into law? I applied this year and won't find out until mid January if I made it in. All I know is that the Uni actually selects candidates so I was wondering if anyone knows the standards required...

    Transferring

I became very complacent in the 2nd semester of my first year, believing that a quota position was easier to obtain than it really was. When I heard that a credit average was 'recommended', I simply worked towards that target. Unfortunately, that was the minimum target which really isn't...

I'm not sure what happens with e-student. I think maybe we just get last pick. Although, access to class selection isn't given until early - mid February and the quota details are finalised by mid/late January. Maybe just enrol in the law units and if they don't kick you out then you will get...

I had a UAI of 92.85 and a GPA of 3.0 and tthey didn't accept me (last year). Maggie Liston told me that I needed 3.3, based on that years competition for the quota positions. It's not as easy as they lead you to believe. I think more information needs to be published.

Last year I applied for the quota and missed out... I had a GPA of 3.0 and a UAI of 92.85. I'm applying again this year with a GPA of 3.43 (needless to say I've done a fair bit of work this year). I was just wondering if anyone knows how important the written part of the application is? i.e...

    Last Minute Help - ACCG201

Let me clarrify... what i meant was I hope that your answer for both part i) and ii) is sufficiently contained in part i), so that when u say 'refer to previous answer' they give you marks for both answers. They made it clear that each question wasn't going to be marked beyond the space...

I don't think that a 25% margin on the selling price and a 25% markup are the same thing. e.g. a 10% margin on a selling price of $200 would mean that target cost is $180. Alternatively, a 10% markup on $180 would mean that the selling price is $198. The margin is a fixed proportion of sales...

    Last Minute Help - ACCG201

I understrand what Target Costing is... it's not that difficult. It's just that i don't think i read the question accurately enough. i.e. I did a profit margin of 25% on the Selling Price, rather than a 25% markup on the product and delivery costs... meh. Also, part b)ii) of the TP question...

    Last Minute Help - ACCG201

The tute and review questions came in very handy for that exam but it wasn't too difficult. What did people do for the Target Costing question... i.e. Sell price was $400 and the target profit margin was 25%... was target cost simply $300 cause someone suggested that there was a trick to it...

    so... how did you go?

Ancient doesn't get scaled as good as modern but I think the mean average (from 50 %) scaling is around 10 points. However, that gap gets smaller and smaller as your marks get higher. However, it definetly gets scaled up. Man, your teacher really fucked you up. We studied Sparta and the...
