    Subgenres of crime fiction

There we go - we have solved the problem! The most important subgenres that you should know are what you have studied in class and the subgenres of the specific Prescribed Texts you have studied. For myself, i would only need to know cosyschool and hard boiled, as those are my PT subgenres. I...

    Subgenres of crime fiction

I think everyone needs to calm down and learn to respect other peoples points of view and ideas. After saying that, i am going to give you all my point of view. I think the only real subgenres that are relevant to this course, are Cosy School and Hard Boiled. Otherwise, don't you think the...

    Creative writing

It is good that you are trying to prepare, but i honestly don't think that they will narrow down the creative writing section to that extent; i think they will just ask you to do your own creative piece, and thus you can choose what that style of writing is.

    Creative writing

i thought that's what they were all about. ranking you out of the whole state in terms of your ability to perform academically in both your assessments but also in the actual exam. im just bitter because my head is about to explode from study :)

    Creative writing

That's true. They should just abolish HSC examinations altogether; they arent a true test of people's intellect, they are a test of how well people perform under pressure. Toodles

    Creative writing

"Uhh no. You don't need laptops. Use school desktop computers. There'd easily be enough for each batch of HSC exams. Typing = the future of word processing. People who can't type quickly need to learn or become amish." Hahah i like your way of thinking. One question, about the sore hand...

    Creative writing

That's true, but we should just have the option of doing that, so those who want to handwrite can, and those who want to type can. During the trials exams i couldnt hold a pen properly each day or so after my exams, my hand was too sore.

    Creative writing

That's unfortunate that you have a medical disorder, but i would so LOVE to be able to use a computer for the exams; i can type heaps faster then i can write, and im sure thats the case for everyone. I say we should all be able to use laptops, i mean we are in a computer age now arent we? but in...

    Help with Coleridge?

i have only read parts of your thread as i am just browsing, but i have a few comments; firstly, AOS needs you to have variety of texts, does it not? (correct me if i am wrong) so therefore, i think everything you are using are poems ... yes? although it is good that you can link how each...

    Creative writing

i havent read everyones reply, so dont get angry if i repeat something etc firstly, my pre-written response is one page typed, and that is generally all i can manage to do in an exam; usually 4-5 pages handwritten. whoever said pre-writing a story is a waste of time, well im sorry my friend, but...

La Belle Dame Sans Merci by John Keats

just a little advice, markers like to see a mixture of text types, so if your set texts are Coleridge poems i would advise against using Keats poem, as they were both romantics and thus the things in there poems would be similar; try using something that isnt a poem perhaps .. i dont know, just...
