Me and my school was there. It was decent, but after the 4th speech I was already half-asleep. An hour after that I had given up and was just reading a book instead of listening. :D

So far: Maths 3 Unit/2 Unit (Combined Exam): 58/108 English Advanced 2 Unit: 24/30 Legal Studies: 40/50 (so far, total test is out of 70

Need... to study... consistently. It's the other way around for me. My exams are going to crush me under their 70%s, 60%s. While my Assignments, hopefully, will pull me up.

While the system will let you get through with just memorisation (My Maths teacher admitted that in class today; it's how he got through, apparently) I agree; understanding what you are doing is in my experience supported much much better. And for the most part, understanding is encouraged. I...

Point is that I can apply what I've learnt in english to deconstruct it without having to do it in class piece-by-piece. Maybe that goes under "Reading and Appreciating". I dunno. Maybe what you learn in english, after a while, comes automatically...

Depends on the text, of course. Some texts were just made on the spot. Others were made with ideas in mind. Hell, being able to understand the methods people use to try and convince you of their ideas is worth it, in my books. But I can read both ways.
