    actually, my bro does have the oxford textbook turns out dad bought it at some second hand textbook sale at my bro's school. i helped him translate the first passage. it was soooo easy! why couldn't we have had that in our latin exams??

    lol yeah, i remember looking through textbooks with such ridiculously hard stuff. but their english too often is shit, even though it's the other official language. the majority of english teachers failed some test, showing they can't even teach the subject.

    the fisher library at usyd is fantastic for latin resources. i've spent so many afternoons there. abbey's bookshop in york st has heaps of books you can buy, though they don't always come cheap.

    french, italian, spanish... english is 60% derived from latin. can't remember any others off the top of my head, but mainly western european languages.
