Maths and Science students, INCREASED FEES for 2013!

Yeah of course.. whilst it's not gonna make me change course, it will double my debt.. which is highly disappointing. Furthermore the lack of notice from my University or the actual Government institutions just compounds my disappointment.

How hard is it to get into Grad Medicine at usyd from B medical science?

Very hard, I'd say. 5.5 GPA is the threshold which is quite easy. The GAMSAT score required though is above 67, which is about 94%ile. And that's the minimum score. Then you still have to perform well in the interview.

Maths and Science students, INCREASED FEES for 2013!

Yes.. I am extremely disappointed. Especially, now that I've just come across this: http://studyassist.gov.au/sites/studyassist/news/pages/changes-to-student-contributions-maths-and-science-units That conflicts with the above article.. which means that I too will have to pay increased fees...

Maths and Science students, INCREASED FEES for 2013!

Sorry, if this is old news or not.. but it's something I just came across and may be of interest to any new maths/science students starting in 2013. http://ministers.deewr.gov.au/evans/band-2-student-contribution-reinstated-maths-and-science The government has no longer listed...

lol - no. Only possibility is getting in with 99.55 if you want to do MBBS/Music, you'd have to do an audition though.

If you do B.comm at UNSW and apply to transfer into Comm/Law at USYD?

Possibly.. you have to fill in a form to apply for credits. I'm not sure how favourably USYD looks upon UNSW's Comm course, I would assume that you would get credited for a few units - just not sure if it would be all of them.

If you do B.comm at UNSW and apply to transfer into Comm/Law at USYD?

Preety sure USYD doesn't have special considerations for internal transfers. The only benefit would be that you would get full credits for that year of study and so would still only do 5 years.

I just reckon it's useful in terms of providing instant messaging rather than having back and forth PM's.

Can I change UWS from 1st preference now that I have offer or will it lapse?

Have you already received the offer? If so, accept it - and then change it.

Can I make it?!?! Help please, particularly from current uni students!!!!!!!

I can't really answer your first question as I'm not too educated upon teaching degrees and the alternative pathways involved. Regarding your second question you can actually accept both offers. You said that you received an early offer from UWS? If this is so, accept it. Essentially, you are...

Can I make it?!?! Help please, particularly from current uni students!!!!!!!

Accept the early offer from UWS, then change your preferences to make Macq your first preference for the main round - that way you can attempt to get both offers. Your 6 points below - so it's rather unlikely, but I'd give it a shot anyway - you never know.

University Preferences (Medicine Goal) HELP Desperate!!

You are quite clearly misinformed and do not have a thorough understanding of the requirements to gaining entry into Medicine. Whilst, it is true that OP's chances at gaining entry into UNSW are extremely slim because of her relatively low ATAR, she still easily has a competitive chance at both...

University Preferences (Medicine Goal) HELP Desperate!!

Her best bet isn't just to try for graduate medicine.. Her best bet is to try as many times as possible, which means as many UMATS and GAMSAT's as possible during her undergraduate degree. Furthermore, what are the benefits of a B Sc (Adv) at USYD? They have no scheme in regards to a medical...
