So. . . the HSC aye?

Seriously? I love Conquering Chemistry, it's like the best textbook. :| ALL Excel textbooks are unbelievably terrible. I wouldn't pay five bucks for one. Too bad I already paid like twenty bucks for a Physics one this year. God, what a waste.

    Bio Olympiad

I put pH, and I'm fairly sure it was the right answer, in light of the other options. Enzymes need a certain pH in order to function at optimum level, so changing it could well have sped up the reaction. And yeah, if an enzyme was heated to 75 degrees it would be completely denatured.

    Bio Olympiad

I thought the multiple choice was hard. :( There were quite a few that I guessed... even the chlorophyll one? What was the answer to that? I thought it would've been the sepal, but that wasn't an option. I don't know whether I put stem or filament; they're both green... Which one was the egg...

    Not doing assignments ):

ahaha. that's what i've done for like three of my assessments, lol. i was genuinely sick, though... but i could've just done them if i had wanted too :p getting a shit mark is better than getting zero - since you're going to do it eventually, you may as well just hand something in on time...

    Not doing assignments ):

Hahaha... I did my WHOLE essay during the day. It was around 1200 words or so. Worst piece of shit I've ever written in my life. I finished my conclusion during sixth period, lol. I will laugh so hard if I get 15 or above out of 20. It's probably not gonna happen, though... Still, I'm pretty...

    The Golgi Body.

Here substances are "packaged" and "processed" to be transported elsewhere in the cell. But what does that mean? What happens to the substances, exactly?

    Australian Science Olympiads

Re: Science Olympiads I'd only taken a brief glance at the Physics and Chemistry papers before I was scared off, but I think that's a very good breakdown, Kirjava. They all utilise a different kind of logic, but I do think that Biology is the easiest. Perhaps that's because I have a...

    Australian Science Olympiads

Re: Science Olympiads I'm doing Biology as well! I. am. so. excited. !!!! *nerd* I think I might actually do well, too. I don't want to say that I'll get into the camp, because if I build my expectations up... well, it would be kind of crushing when (if?) I don't get in. Don't worry guys...

    Do You Like English?

I like English, primarily because it's easy for me to get good marks. (I enjoy writing, and the teacher is biased is in my favour.) The work itself isn't all that stimulating, and in class I'm often painfully bored, but overall it's tolerable. Top marks = happy, I guess. :)

Help needed with trig identities. (Or: My god, maths is a freaking nightmare)

Sorry about the brackets! A bit late, but I fixed them. Thanks for all your efforts. But, um, I'm still kind of lost. Could you please explain cross-multiplication for me? What I did originally was I got the common denominator by multiplying the two denominators and merged the fractions...

America's Next Top Model Cycle 8

OMG. I kind of hate this show now, but I just have to say something. I can't freaking BELIEVE they got rid of Kathleen first. Are the producers morons or what? Everything that came out of that girl's mouth was comic GOLD. "They're gonna make me do something with crap... well, not crap...

Help needed with trig identities. (Or: My god, maths is a freaking nightmare)

It might just be me, but I'm finding trig identities damn near impossible. It's really making me want to slit my wrists (not to be dramatic or anything). Is there a fool-proof method to working them out? If you help me, you will have my eternal gratitude. I can do most of the basic ones, it's...

    Sketching a hyperbola.

Best explanation ever. I totally get how to do it now! Thank you. :D I get this too! And it makes sense! Thank you. :D

    Sketching a hyperbola.

So sketching a goddamn hyperbola is turning out to be the biggest stumbling block I've had all year. My textbooks tell me how to graph one with a table of values, but neither one tells me how to sketch one with the main points labeled. I've had several people try to explain it to me, but...
