each maths course has two variants. difference between normal and advanced is like 2u vs 4u. iirc unsw also restricts hds in normal courses to try push u into advanced courses

3 yrs makes getting good internships v hard. u hit penult after one yr of uni so u kinda have to be gunning from the start. usyd has better finance courses imo if i could restart uni i would strongly consider doing eco law, but usyd cutoff is above ur atar afaik

those are majors, the maths courses are subjects. eg lets say hsc/ib was a major. you complete subjects to get that major. english is a compulsory subject for completing hsc.

are you looking at the normal maths courses or advanced first year maths, i.e. math1141 and math1241, and math2621 for complex analysis. advanced maths in 1st yr at unsw has over 500 students a term iirc, and normal maths is generally not advised for those who have done 4u maths and decently...
