HSC Maths Ext2 Questions + Answers

This is 3 unit binomial probabiliy. Set up a binomial distribution in the form X~Bi(n,p) then use the formula P(X=x) = nCx × (1-p)^(n-x) × p^x. Whats so hard is that its very worded and you need to apply different conditions for each situation, as given byhe question. Although this may not be...

Which trial papers are usually the most difficult?

Its a lot more complex. You have to prove completion of Stage 5 content, then your school proposes the case to NESA who gives them a yes or no, then your school sets a program and begins. Unfortunately with the current circumstances, it has made things alot more difficult. I would prefer to...

Which trial papers are usually the most difficult?

Currently, I am in Year 9 but my school cant open up resources for acceleration at this level. They are definitely working for it for next year though. Ill just gain experience from the years I miss so Im not too disappointed.

Which trial papers are usually the most difficult?

I think they are going to kill the vectors topic - perhaps introduce matrices during the exam and look at the cross product. Definitely think they will ask to prove dot product in relation to area, and will have a 3D killer geometrical proof. Im thinking to enrol - are you allowed to do these...

Which trial papers are usually the most difficult?

You could treat a b c as roots to a cubic polynomial then make a statement from that as well. True, under pressure is different.

Which trial papers are usually the most difficult?

Couldnt you just solve for a, b and c from the equation abc = 1 then substitute, simplify and justify? If you are allowed to post this test later on, that would be great!

    Challenging (?) Proof Question

You could go into complex numbers and use Taylor series expressions for real and imaginary part, then you could prove local finite integer ABSOLUTE convergence from a point, calling z_n = M^n + M^(-n) and by proving that |Re(z_n)| and |Im(z_n)| ==> |z_n| converges. Type of approach from complex...
