    projectile motion

Measuring height and range would do the trick.

    Who f*cked up?

My first estimate of a mark was high 80s (raw), now I'm down to high 70's. As I continue to read these forums it continually drops, so it would be a good time to stop reading methinks, that way my raw mark won't be any less than high 70s :D

    multiple choice

See thread "induction motor or cooktop?" A lot of debate over this question.

    induction motor or cooktop?

    Exactly my point.

    induction motor or cooktop?

Induction motors use induced eddy currents.

Bachelor of Science @ UNSW vs USYD

I saw a report on ACA a few weeks ago where some guy who owns a rural pharmacy was looking for a pharmacist to work full time, and he couldn't find anyone. He was offering $110k a year, iirc.

New sponsors are always a probability as well (although it would be extremely lucky for someone to get a scholarship from a new sponsor coming in late).

    smh.com.au

You had 2 values, time in the air and acceleration (unless he was playing basketball on the moon which I strongly doubt). The thing about this question was that it required application of what we've learnt, rather than just regurgitation of what we've learnt. IMO a question like this was long...

    Different Electives

Do different electives in physics get scaled the same way? I mean it would be pretty hard to write a paper with all of the electives having exactly the same difficulty. What I mean is people could find Quanta to Quarks easy and get 28/28 in (I think it's out of 28), while others might find...

80% Raw aligned to 90? or was it too easy exam?

Apparently you can get your marks back if you pester the BOS enough.

    Too easy?

I actually stuffed up on that "kindergarten question." I looked at it for a while and only put down one thing wrong with it, the fact that the way the coils were wound it wouldn't turn. I explained it with a diagram and equality of forces, but thought that the other mistakes were so blatantly...

    Engineering Scholarships

Heya, I just realised in the last few months that I don't want to do Commerce after all, but rather engineering (probably electrical). The problem is, I only applied for one scholarship, an actuarial co-op (got rejected :S). I was just wondering if there are any scholarships at all where...

    Finding the gradient question

I don't think you'd lose a mark for that. Strictly speaking, since Force was in 10^-6 Newtons, and Current was in single amps, this was marked on the scale. So the gradient of the line was in fact 3.5, i.e. 1 unit across, 3.5 units up, even if the units were tweaked in order to produce a nicer...

    Finding the gradient question

rise/run I used all of the points they gave to get about 5 gradients, all ~3.5, then I just took the average.

    Finding the gradient question

you should have used 3.6*10^-6 to find k.
  19. BillyMak

    Finding the gradient question

I reckon they could accept both answers, it was only worth like 1 or 2 marks.
  20. BillyMak

    Finding the gradient question

Yes, but you had to use 3.5*10^-6 when calculating k.
