    Forgot to sign blue form

The SOR1 kids were just told to leave quietly while SOR2 stayed back. The supervisors were only just starting to go around :( I hope it'll be fine.

I filled out all the numbers of the booklets I wrote but I completely forgot to sign the bottom of the blue sheet for SOR1!! Do you think it'll be ok???

    Chemistry Marathon (HSC)

Yes, your allowed to write about any radioisotope as examples for medical and industrial use. Tc-99m is actually pretty common, I think.

Haha thanks! Yeah, I knew the other benefits of NaHCO3, I was just wondering if the carbon dioxide part was correct :)

    Chemistry Marathon (HSC)

Quick question: with neutralisation reactions, can you say sodium hydrogen carbonate is useful because its amphiprotic but also because when neutralising an acid, it evolves carbon dioxide so you can tell when the reaction is complete as it will stop evolving carbon dioxide bubbles?

    Physics marathon (hsc)

Reposting my earlier post, can anyone help tell me if this is right - I'm still confused! If you just have a magnet sitting on top of a superconductor (before its cooled before its critical temp) and you cool that superconductor below its critical temp, the magnetic will levitate because of the...

    Physics marathon (hsc)

But can't you see a magnet rising up off a superconductor once you start lowering its temperature below critical (provided the magnet is sitting on top the superconductor) - hence Meissner effect not induction because there is no relative motion? Someone help, I'm confused.

    2010 HSC q10

I think solar winds was part of space in prelim? But yeah, using magnetic fields to deflect positive/negative charges I think would do it.

    Motors/Generators

Its got slip rings so its definitely AC not DC but I'm not sure that its any of the answers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it start cutting the maximum flux so it shouldn't it be starting with max emf and so be a cos wave not a sine wave?

Validity and reliability on Michelson-Morley Experiment

This. I'd say you got the 1 mark for validity, but you lost the mark for not addressing the reliability part of Jo's statement.

Yep, that's where I got it from. It talks about the bulging effect and the 'fling' effect.

    Physics marathon (hsc)

I was just thinking that because of the rotation, the earth bulges at the centre and flattens at the poles. So decrease the rotational speed, the equator would be closer to the centre and at the same time the poles would be further away becaues they are flattened less due to there being less of...
