I needed 84.6 for Science/Arts and got 85.5, plus the possibility of bonus points (flexible entry). Does this mean I'm automatically in? Science/Arts at Sydney is my first preference.

I am. I was going to do Forensic Biology @ UTS but since I got really good Italian marks I thought it would be a shame to give it up, so majoring in Italian studies for the Arts aspect and then Biochemistry for the Science aspect.

What year are you in? If you're in year 10/11, I say do it. We have 5 doing music 1, 1 doing music 2 and 3 doing physics (initially 2 did music 2 and 8 did physics but people dropped/moved to music 1). Although if you're already doing the HSC now, bit pointless.

Really wasn't motivated much this year and it affected my ranks. I'm also quite young (17) and possibly immature. If my HSC results aren't good (i.e. if I get below 85), I want to do the HSC in 2012 through TAFE or at Bradfield College, how do I do that?
