The first part was on the right track.
Rtp: (x+y)^2/xy + 2 >=6
Rtp: (x+y)^2>=4xy
But (x-y)^2>=0
Hence x^2 + y^2 >= 2xy
And (x+y)^2 >= 4xy as required
