I'm thinking of taking up Linguistics next semester as a minor and I was wondering if that would be a good complementary course to Psychology. Can anyone tell me about it?^^
First names with two separated words will only be listed as the first word in the student database... Then when you talk on the discussion boards everyone starts calling you "Ewe" ... I'm not a goddamn sheep! D=
EDIT: Oh, and when new semesters start the tutors just call you by that first...
All minors require Level II and III courses (totalling 24 UoC) from their school to be completed for an award.
EDIT: So for example, a level II course would have a code like ARTS2021 - you can tell what level it is from the first number
Thanks for that information guys, it really gave me a better understanding of how things work^^
One question - your first mark is the only one they use for the WAM but if you do a course again and get a higher mark, then are both marks displayed on the transcript or just the higher one?
I try and do most of my work on my laptop, which doesn't have any games and a crappy net connection when I'm at home. It tends to keep me away from distractions, plus I have more desk space.
I think you can only get into honours from B Science (and from there into postgraduate study). If you only want to do a major, I don't think there's any major difference.
EDIT: Actually, I just had a look at the psyc honours brochure. It seems as though you could get into honours from B Arts...
Hehe, it may be my bad luck of getting into a small tutorial group. Maybe if I were in a bigger tutorial then it wouldn't feel as though I was just biding my time. A lot of the times, people aren't sure what to say and I think that's how we stray off topic... Or at least that's what I think. If...
Yeah, I had a question about the WAM too... Heh, I feel so newbie with all these questions I have >_o
So anyway my question is...
What is the WAM important for? Just academic standing? I looked at the handbook and it seems that all I should be concerned about is getting an average of 70% in my...
I agree with chucknthem and litany. I'm doing a philosophy course in metaphysics and epistemology at the moment and when I read the literature, I start looking forward to discussing it over in the tutorials. And then I get to the tutorials and we're talking about completely irrelevant things. To...
From what I read, if you're doing B Science then you need to pass the level I courses in order to get into the level II and III courses. The level II and III courses you need to achieve a WAM of 70+ in order to get into honours. I think this is the same for B Adv Science and B Psyc.
I was...
Thanks for the advice guys^^
One more question, how many hours per week would you say you spend studying? In the welcome lecture we had, the guy said we should be studying at 2 hours per UoC... Is that right?
I'd be interested in finding out the temperatures for fast food as well... Is there a Cold Rock anywhere nearby? I think I read something about it in Blitz but I've no idea how to get there
Don't throw social parties in libraries??
I don't mind quiet whispering, but when you're just being a talking, laughing idiot then don't be surprised if you suddenly find yourself suffering from a little bulletinheaditis. Especially if all you're doing is guffawing on about some meaningless...
