Hi guys,
Feedback for Chemistry Exam 2
There were 23 participants.
The raw average was 29.5/50. This is much higher than exam 1 (where the average was 19.5/50).
Excluding marks less than 10, the average was 31.5.
The highest mark was 42/50. Well done- great effort.
The toughest questions...
This is all heresay, but generally it is used as a screening tool (they dont tell you the exact numbers obviously). But in general the minimum would be 95+ ATAR and around a distinction average at uni (obviously helps going to a top uni as well). Remember they are getting thousands of...
Thought I would start a new thread since the other one was getting quite long....
I have just added a 20 question physics exam (there are now 3). I think this is the hardest yet... I am trying to make them harder as we get closer to exam time.
So far I have only had 7 people take Exam 2...
Yeah at the moment its pulling you down a bit...
Its often your lower scaled subjects that you do poorly in that determine your ATAR (rather than the subjects you like and do well in).
These estimates assume you perform inline with your school rank... so if you do much better in the exams...
Depends what industry you are going into...From my experience, if you are going into something super competitive like finance or law, you will find you def get screened based on your ATAR as well as your uni marks to even get an interview. You will often have to sit psychometric tests as well if...
Hi guys,
Since 42 of you spent took the time to do Chem exam 1, I thought I would give some feedback.
The raw average was 19/50.
Excluding marks less than 10, the average was 27.4.
The highest mark was 49/50 by Menomaths who is a regular contributor on these science forums. I think it shows...
Beating 88% of people in industrial technology is the same as beating 40% of people in English Adv.... So obviously for a low scaling subject, you have to beat more people to get the same contribution to your ATAR.
IT has similar scaling to english standard.
What subjects are you thinking of dropping and I can tell you how they are scaled....
The thing about scaling is it impacts you much more if you perform poorly... So something might scale poorly, but if you are well at it, then it wont matter as much. However, if you do poorly it can really...
Based on rank of 5/27, you assessment mark will prob be 86ish.. so if you external was 75 then you should get HSC mark of 81 or so. Based on that your scaled mark will be about 34 per unit (in this case 68 give 2 units)
To get 90 ATAR you need an average scaled mark of 37 per unit. So to be...
To get 97 you need an Aggregate of 422, so 42 scaled mark per unit.
The required HSC mark will vary per subject, depending on the scaling.... Its hard to to say how likely 97 is without more info (i.e. your school and school ranks in each of your subjects).
