Yeah agree with this, legit anyone can score well in the HSC if you put in the effort and utilize your time sufficiently. In year 11 I scored extremely poorly and did no study apart from the day before the test. My Yearly report were full of 60-70 scores and my best ranking was 8/48 for English...
I was in the same position, around a month ago now. I was doing 12 units and was contemplating for a long time whether it was a good idea to drop EES, main reasons being that it has a lot of content, doesn't contemplate for this content in scaling, and the teacher was teaching the subject for...
There are so many degrees that I want to do, urgh. Courses that I'm most interested in are Politics, Philosophy, Law, Physical Geography, Human Geography and Biological Studies. Too many choices.
Mine start on Monday,
First week is:
English Paper 1, Biology and Ancient History. All on consecutive days :(
Second week is:
English Paper 2, Geography and Ex.1 with my my draft for Ex.2 also due.
My half yearlies start next week ie. weeks 10/11 and my trials are weeks 3/4 of Term 3.
From what I've read on here, most people have had their half yearlies already, so are your trials earlier than mine too? Or around the same time?
I would have to say English and Extension 1+2 English are the most enjoyable classes in my opinion. Most likely due to the friendly, fun and competitive cohort, and the bond my extension classes hold.
I asked a similar question and got productive results: http://community.boredofstudies.org/461/atar-hsc-marks/319041/how-much-does-performance-my-cohorts-matter-my-marks.html
Wow, thanks a whole heap for all the information, it is greatly appreciated. The other students in my team are relatively new to debating I believe, so I'll show them your post too.
Good luck in your HSC :)
Hi,
I'm doing a public debating competition with my school this year as it is the first time my school has enrolled in such an event. I have watched some types of public debating during the earlier years of my high school career, but still am a complete amateur to the art. Would anyone have some...
I'm actually in a similar dilemma with my subjects. I am doing 12 units and am contemplating whether I should EES or keep it for longer, it's my worst ranked subject but the only thing holding me back is my confidence in ex.2 English.
It's obviously the wise decision to hold it till next round...
Yeah I agree with the above, don't over dramatize the HSC. Although it is a significant point on your life, you should still treat it with comfort and acceptability. Everybody has different study techniques which work themselves, I suggest following the syllabus for note-writing, and use...
