Home study failed for me during the HSC, since there were countless distractions around me: BOS, MSN, Facebook, YouTube etc.
If you're willing to stfu and help each other out instead of gossiping, it works.

Based on those ranks, you should be alright. Assuming that you did go to a low ranked school, there would be a few standard english students ;). So if you're coming 3rd amongst them, then :D.

I see. I've also heard that there are a few co-op drop outs for comm, and that it's possible to apply in the future, even though you're not a first year. Not entirely sure if it's true or not, but it gives hope for those who were misinformed about cadetships/co-op :).
