I think they would be more concerned with you overall WAM. Also, if you have improved then it comes off as a good thing.
It also really depends on the jobs you are applying for too.

Tbh if I didn't know the person I would feel no obligation to help them if it was a consequence of their own actions and not a legitimate mistake.

You just sit next to her and talk. Or you could just join her group of friends and talk. You're in first year. Most people in first year are friendly and mingling. It isn't as cliquey in first year.

Some of mine go up straight away. Depends on the state of echo at the time.
It's because you haven't had your marks partially rely on others before.
It's not just an international students thing though.
Back in my time you needed extra-curricular bonus...
Electrical engineering is what you graduate with. You can do electives related to electronics, power systems, control systems, photonics, telecommunications and signal processing. In the end you still graduate as an electrical engineer.
Computer engineering is quite different. It's like 2 years...
