They throw in the odd question that I don't understand, yet they don't provide a worked example for it. I'm stuck on this one now: "Find the equation of the perpendicular bisector of the line passing through (6, -3) and (-2, 1)." I got the gradient (1/2) from the 2 points, but I don't know what...

    Alright, can I just do 1/gradient? Anyway, here is my working. I got the wrong answer, and I'm not sure where I go wrong. \\ 3x+2y-1=0\\ \\ 2y=-3x+1\\ \\ y=-1\frac { 1 }{ 2 } +\frac { 1 }{ 2 } \\ \\ m2=\frac { 1 }{ -1\frac { 1 }{ 2 } } \\ \\ \qquad =-\frac { 2 }{ 3 } \\ \\ y-4=-\frac { 2 }{ 3...

    Maths help

Alright, another problem. :) I need to find the equation of a straight line passing through (0, -2) and perpendicular to the line x - 2y = 9. What I have tried to do so far is get the gradient of the line which is 1/2 and from there, I'm not sure what to do. Help please :)

I've always got this done in class, then I come home and I'm stumped. I'm one of the better students in the class overall. I can't get this, and it's annoying me. :'( Mind if I PM you?

    Maths help

If I sub the center coordinate in and the coordinate lying on the circle, the midpoint I get is (1, 1). Am I going to fail 2U maths if I can't do basic things?

    Maths help

Is there an actual way to work it out? I'm going to fail this test tomorrow hardcore. Why do I suck at maths so much!

    Maths help

Alright thanks :) If I have the radius of a circle, and the midpoint is given, how can I find the coordinate of the missing part of the line (to make up the diameter). SO the centre is (-2, 5) and the end of the diameter is (4, -3). Find the coordinates of the other end of the diameter. The...

    Maths help

Alright, so the question is, The points A(3, 5), B(9, -3), C(5, -6) and D(-1, 2) form a quadrilateral. Prove that the diagonals are equal and bisect one another. What type of quadrilateral is ABCD? I got the midpoint for AC and BD, and that is (4, -0.5) but in the back before that it has AC =...

Aren't I finding the diameter? I won't need the circumference formula. I'll do: Is that right?

    Maths help

Yes, I understand that now :) Alright, the next question. Find the exact length of the diameter of a circle with centre (-3, 4) if the circles passes through the point (7, 5). I don't understand this at all, the wording throws me off completely. Can someone break it up for me and I'll see if I...

I'm still not sure how to plot on paper. What am I plotting? All I have so far is the distance for OB and OC.

twinklegal19, how do I plot it in GeoGebra? What do I enter?

SO the distance for OB and OC is 2, how do I know that bisects BC? I'm so confused ._.
