Other people in my exam said they did too. I reckon we'll get 2.

7 years. I just wrote it out, each year adding $1500 and getting 1/3 of that. Not sure if I'll get all 3 marks.

4 and 8 months then the graph was just an adjusted cos graph that didn't fall below 350.

    Well it's not a tangent at if C is 4. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3D2x%5E2-3x%2B4%3B+y%3D5x-7

    But b^2 - 4ac, so (-8)^2 - 4(2)(C+7) = 64 - 8C - 56. So -8C = -8, C = 1?

I integrated to get f(x) = 2x^2-3x+C. I solved that simultaneously with y=5x-7, since they intersect and formed the equation of 2x^2-8x+(C-7) = 0. I then used the discriminant = 0 to find C and got f(x)=2x^2-3x+1.

I also said because they were trapeziums! As for this, if a is 4.5 then the area below the x-axis on the left hand side will be -2 units, the total area above is 3\frac {3}{4} then the area below on the right hand side is 1\frac {3}{4} so all together you get -2 + 15/4 - 7/4 = 0.

    I got a = 4.5.

    SDD Marathon 2013

Yeah it's basically just maths. I just wasn't sure about the result of 1 + 1 in this case, usually it's 0. And also AAB -> AB. We didn't cover boolean algebra much. Of course I know truth tables, was just confused on the missing +. :)

Could you explain both your solutions here?

Re: HSC 2013 2U Marathon I'm not really sure what you're getting at. If we can get actual clarification on it that'd be good, I was just under that impression because of the students who got marks in the past.
