i know eh? 09er's just dont get it i know ppl who got 98.5+ and went into engineering, commerce, science, social science courses (all with UAI cutoff's 85-95) and even straight abchelor of arts (which is low 80's UAI cutoff) seriously, one's ability to do well in the HSC has no bearing on...

it's not 50%, but yeh it is a major part of the HSC, and is often a diffferentiating factor between band E4 and Band E3 students [along with circle geo, perms and coms, etc] my advice: do heaps of questions from past papers till you understand it anda re getting all q's right

I would go to UNSW and put USYD 2nd chocie and what does that matter anyway, ive heard macquarie uni law is excellent as well, so if it came down to UNSW/USYD with no schoalrship, or Law @ MACQ wiith 60 grand in cash over 5 years, id take the latter.... and what if people don't wanna do law?

merit scholar is automatic for >98.5 UAI, but i don't think it does much for you....

are you sure about that? Because i have mates who had UAI's greater than 98.5 and didn't get one [and on the below link it says 47 ppl got a UAI of 98.5+ and went to amcquarie, yet only 10 ppl got schoalrships...) anyways where i got the '10' figure from is...

exactly, although i didn't attend a public school, public schools performed better than private school's, especially at the top end....
