    General Thoughts: Business Studies

I didn't study human resources as much as the others so 24b was completely guess work , but other than that I was pretty happy with it.

Handy tips to ace the HSC exam

I don't know how many people have already seen this, but this is a helpful little chapter at the back of the "Key Features Of Modern History" textbook that has great advice and hints to do the best you can in the exam. Although some people might already know this information, it'd be a great to...

    Atar estimates? :)

I initially didn't want to do this, didn't want to stress myself out, but what the heck. My schools rank is 190-230 Ancient History: 1/32 Modern History: 2/14 Business Studies: 3/26 General Maths: 2/56 Biology: 12/30 Advanced English : 11/21

2012 HSC predictions for Pompeii and Herculaneum?

You may be right for the second second section, but It doesn't mean issues of conservation ( done last year) should be neglected. After all, changing methods and contributions of archaeologists was done in 2007 and repeated in 2008.

What are the most interesting facts you have learned in Modern History?

It's not that they didn't care, they just couldn't do anything about it. That's the whole idea of totalitarianism. Under Stalinism, Stalin was like god. If anyone contested or threatened his power or actions, well they were goners. Just look what happened to the Kulaks.

    Band 6 marks/ uni Q's/moderated marks

I hope this doesn't come off sounding condescending but you do know that you can't get into post grad dentistry because you have to do an undergrad course first, right? Key word here, POST grad.

They lost my paper, what's going to happen?

Well, thank god for that. I really did not want to do it again anyways, it was stressful enough the first time. Would that be an estimate based on my ranks? And yeah, they called my dad saying I didn't come to my exam.

They lost my paper, what's going to happen?

Yeah, so as the title says, they misplaced my paper and I have yet to find out if they found it or not. What's going to happen if they don't find it? Do I have to retake the test, or will they just give me an estimate?

Was it overly important that we write our prescribed text on the front of our essay

Re: Was it overly important that we write our prescribed text on the front of our ess I was told to write it inside the booklet by the supervisor. In fact, when I wrote it on the front , he made me cross it out. Huh.

    Section 2 - Creative Writing

Horrible. I chose the image with the grandpa and kid at the lake , thinking it'd be the less chosen image and I could come up with a less cliché story...WRONG. I had only 30 mins to write it, my story line did not relate much to the "changes over time" theme and was completely cliché, and I...

    Do I have any hope?

This will sound incredibly pessimistic, but I really don't know how you're going to pull this off. Even if you do serious cramming in the small space of time you have, most subjects have a ridiculous amount of content, even the more practical ones. Yes, you many be able to revise all the content...

    Marks or Ranks

Well, your atar will be half your hsc exam mark and half your moderated mark ( school assessments and that) So, marks are definitely important for your actual hsc marks, as nothing will change that, but for your moderated mark, rank is more important. You obviously have to study hard to get...
