Any tips on how to increase my writing speed?

+1 I found this the most useful. When it comes to creative I can write soooo much faster than I do in my essays because naturally I just retain writing really easily and don't have to think too hard to bullshit it. The biggest time waster in exams isn't pee breaks or slow writing, it's all...

    Not sure whether to drop.

Maybe keep it for now seeing as in Y12 you do a completely different topic to Y11 with different texts and stuff, see if you like it better? It isn't a lot of work if you enjoy it. Give it some time but feel free to drop it once you know you still aren't committed to the coursework.

    14 Units - What Subject/s To Drop?

I'd say drop Geo for now. Throughout next year, especially in the lead up or after getting your results for trials, you can evaluate and see if any of the Extensions, Jap or Eco are taking up too much time and not giving you the ranks/marks that the rest of your subjects are, and drop then if...

    What to do at home

I can only really give you advice on modern specifically, but this first part applies to all subjects.... Make your notes now! Every day or once a week, whatever, use the syllabus as a guideline and start your summaries. Trust me, when trials roll around you're gonna be so grateful you're not...

Thanks :) I try to do this often, but it isn't easy with most users on here getting 95+ in every math and science subject :') I'm just lucky I don't want to be a lawyer or doctor or anything. My ATAR aim is, luckily, very low.

Haha. Yeah 1st ranks are pretty must spread between me and one of my best friends and we do a pretty good job at keeping each other motivated. As seniors we're not in any classes together other than Adv + Ext, but as juniors we definitely were the reasons we both tried so hard in class, mainly...

Wow, we haven't got a 90 ATAR in like 5+ years... Last year the highest was 86 or something, she used to be pretty avid on here as futuremidwife whom I think some of you know. Other than her there were a few others that might have gotten 70-80 but the majority usually get mystery marks.

Meanwhile I'm over here chillin' because I haven't thought about maths since the end of Y10 :') Btw I can't help but notice all of your high marks/goals in your signatures and I admit, I'm a tad curious.... Do you guys go to "good" schools? You can use your own definition of good tbh because my...

    English extension 1 thoughts?

I found Romanticism pretty average. It wasn't super easy/broad like Paper 2 (from my experience with my modules), however the creative stimulus and essay quote weren't that hard to weave into prepared responses. However neither of which aligned with my story and essay so it was very time...

    General Thoughts: HSC PD/H/PE

Yeah, I didn't answer the FaP 8m correctly and although it would be great for BOSTES to be lenient, at the end of the day it just comes down to the fact that too many students (and teachers) rely on past papers to predict what to focus on which is a risk that obviously did not pay off this year...

Unfair financial treatment by my parents?? Means test failure.

There are lots of students who have parents who don't meet the parental means test so are unable to get youth allowance and for whatever reason their parents don't financially support them. There is a very simple solution which we are all legally entitled to do... work.

    We are gathered here today...

All of my related texts are books that I love! I find it easier to use books that I already know well and enjoy. So I shall not be burning them :P

    Option predictions?

My class (incl. two teachers) all predicted the same thing, particularly return to play! They rather threw me off, although I think I did fine. For Health of Young People the questions were also out of left field, not at all what was predicted. However I think my answer was still okay.

    General Thoughts: HSC PD/H/PE

I'm so devo about the FaP 8 marker - the learning environment dot point was unfortunately one that I missed in class, therefore had to copy a friend's notes and I retain the majority of my knowledge aurally in the classroom. I immediately skipped it as I knew I definitely did not recognise the...

    HSC Exam Marking Process

I know for PDHPE the exams get marked online now, is that the case with history too?

    Illness/Misadventure process

In terms of documentation I would say go to your deputy (or whoever is in charge of Yr 12 & HSC) tomorrow morning seeing as the exam isn't 'til 2pm and explain the situation and they should tell you whether your submission would be accepted and what/if you need anything other proof. In terms of...
