I don't know whether anyone has thought of this...

I meant that it was noticeably faster than the evidence in which Punctuated Equilibrium derived from, not that species change everyday.

    ATAR Estimate Idea Please :D

Well not if he decides to get drunk before the exam, lol. I assumed him doing equally as well in the HSC as he does internally.

I don't know whether anyone has thought of this...

Since Punctuated Equilibrium focuses on 'what' happens in evolution and Natural Selection focuses on 'how' it happens, why can't we combine them? I have been thinking for a while about this and I'm not sure whether or not somebody has ever proposed it, but here is my explanation: - The lack of...

    ATAR Estimate Idea Please :D

I would estimate somewhere in the low 90's, but definitely past 90.

To HSCers who did both Biology and Physics: Which one did you prefer?

Physics: - Calculations, you say? Check. - Relatively good scaling, you say? Check. - Engineering, you say? Check. - High ATAR, you say? Check. Biology: - Well, it's fun to learn about yourself. Every now and then you'll get the feeling like, "oh, that's happening to me right now".

There is only one B-cell for one antigen?

Yeah I remembered that but I wasn't sure. That's why I said "clone" lol, I was in conflict with myself.

There is only one B-cell for one antigen?

With everything that I've learned so far, I believe that the part that I bolded in your post is correct. Every antigen will have a specific set of lymphocytes that will destroy it. If the antigen is new to the body, and no B and T-lymphocytes have been pre-made to deal with it, the body simply...

    2015ers Chit-Chat Thread

Question 21 "John throws two equally weighted coins upwards. He does this while doing a wheelie travelling with a velocity of 20 m/s on a bicycle and juggling two knives and a bottle each weighing 1 kg. Assuming that John is a farmer who owns three pigs and a horse, calculate the total of all...

    Wrong Answers?

I forgot that the co-dominance and incomplete dominance part was counter-intuitive. Both being noticeable makes you think "incomplete" and both mixing to form a new colour makes you think "co-dominance". You are correct for both.

    Atar estimateeeee

You could easily put them into an ATAR calculator.

    hsc marking

Not having conclusions for ALL of your essays will have a detrimental impact on your mark. Markers would have already thought of your mark upon reaching the conclusion, but that conclusion is worth at least two marks. Just having a conclusion will give 19/20 instead of an 18/20, while to get a...

General thoughts: English Advanced Modules Paper 2

As I came ~5/9 internally in English Advanced, I expect my peers to drag me down, specially in a ~450 ranked school. I probably did above average, but because I have insane memorization and mathematical skills, I feel as though this impairs my English. That and also I just came to Australia...

You guys think there'll be this type of question?

That is very true. Mostly the higher marks require your insight into it, along with a broad range of information about one specific topic.

Thinking of dropping to standard english

"We'll stop punching this dead horse when it stops spitting out money." - Bo Burnham Does not relate at all but I just thought it's the best quote ever.

    We are gathered here today...

Hahaha! Sucks for you guys I'm never saying the word "enjambment" in my life ever again! *runs off into the sunset on a unicorn while leaving the bonfire of English papers behind*

Thinking of dropping to standard english

This has dragged on for too long. Now I'm just thinking he wants attention, seriously. Look, just because eighty people are telling you to do Advanced, and one is telling you to do Standard, doesn't mean that one guy is correct. It's your choice, but remember you have to deal with the...

General thoughts: English Advanced Modules Paper 2

A conclusion is "a judgement or decision reached by reasoning". What Mythos said is true. Not only does the conclusion allow you to give a final say about your analysis, but it also gives you the chance to end it on a good note - preferably with style. Remember, HSC markers are not robots...

Band 5/6 Raw Mark Cut Off?

If you didn't do well in the exam, chances are you're not going to be on this website and will be studying for your other exams. This results in more people who did well in their exams posting on the website. However, that doesn't mean everyone did well; those who did not do well still exist...

General thoughts: English Advanced Modules Paper 2

One will not get full marks without a conclusion. The most you can get, if it's a state rank response but is missing a conclusion, will be 19/20. Sure, that's not the only essay structure there is, but if you don't conclude it, the markers would definitely forget about that 20/20. It's like a...
