    Hardest ext maths topic...

i reckon perms and comb's, just because it's so simple to miss one little factor, and then you get no marks. parametrics is tricky occasionally, and motion is something i haven't done much work on, so i still find it a tad challenging!

    BOS Showcase: 2009 Major Works

Beautiful. Amazing! Having read both your major work and reflection statement, I feel inspired. I have always loved English in general, creative writing especially. Over my preliminary and HSC years, however, a change has come over me which led me further towards my passion for maths and...

    CSSA Trial Maths Adv RESULTS

well done bdogz! really solid effort there. erm...i got smack bang on 90%...that's like 108. Not terrible, but not fantastic considering I topped extension 1 and should be getting more like 114+ (i.e. 95%+). My problem was that I got cocky and was like, "nar, I don't need to revise, it's 2U...

    When is it a baby?

LOL...I like your conviction, though perhaps not your principles. you know you can't kill a vegetable, only the plant =) i think there's some thing called fruitarianism (or something like that?) where people only eat food after it has fallen off a plant so as not to hurt the plant =P i...

    When is it a baby?

Like I said before - the point I am making is not that pregnancy has fantastic benefits which negate the possibility for ill-health - all I am trying to say is that while there are (like you said) mostly bad things which happen to the body, there are some biological processes, such as oxytocin...

    When is it a baby?

Yeah, I do agree with you. Sex is one thing, but making the choice to have a child - relating back to the topic of abortion, and making the choice of keeping an unborn child - is more what I am meaning here. And yes, I think people do reproduce to fulfil a sense of purpose and emotional wellbeing.

    When is it a baby?

The health of an individual's reproductive organs are not indicative of their overall health. I'm sorry if I didn't distinguish clearly enough between the two.

    When is it a baby?

ok, ok! the benefits, while present, are small in comparison to the plethora of terrible disasters that can come from it. but there's obviously something emotionally fulfilling which has kept the human population going! NO - not a suggestion, merely an observation. And it is not an entire...

    When is it a baby?

A good point, but is nevertheless beneficial after pregnancy haha...I will when I find it! It's probably not the strongest example there is, but I *think* I read it recently in a magazine from my local health food shop....obviously a highly reputable source...lol.

    When is it a baby?

haha, oh so true - thoughts of broke uni students enters my mind... yes, that's a good point, I was speaking from limited scientific perspective - I was unaware of psychological inclusions until your mentioning it.

    When is it a baby?

Well, I can't say I'm speaking from experience, but there is a strong surge of oxytocin just after the delivery which is a "feel good" hormone which strengthens feelings of love and closeness in relationships. erm....mentally, obviously a sense of fulfilment - but again, more subjective and...

    When is it a baby?

This is a question that has plagued me a lot lately, as I want to get into medicine @ UNCLE in '09. I believe one of the few procedures I could never do is abortion. I don't think I could live with that on my conscience. Yeah, so for me it's a baby at conception. What happens if a mother...

    med or dead....?

haha, yeah i see your point - at 1AM, a sciences student should not try and discuss "humanities" as she will most certainly mince her words! but in my defence, i must say the term "humanitarian" does in an abstract sense denote a concern for human values and social reforms both in the present...
