    Ranking??

My school is a public school, and we are shown our ranks in half yearly and yearly reports for each subject. Also, we can find out our current rank within a subject by asking at any time.

    ENGLISH! (All courses welcome =D)

Ugh. I'm doing 'View of the Artist', anyone else doing that or something similar?

Which career path would you like to pursue in the future?

    ENGLISH! (All courses welcome =D)

For Advanced I'm doing 'View of the artist', and I'm not sure this is even a real topic...Anyone know? As for novel study, we havn't even been given a book/title yet. Just been going on about forms and features...all stuff we learnt last year, year 9, 8 ect As for Extension, I'm studying...

    Making Notes?

Hey guys, I have been wondering this for a while. A common study technique around here seems to be making notes from your school day/subjects. I was wondering...how exactly is this done? What is making notes, and how effective do you find them/making them to be? Also, any other studying...

    A Board of Studies rule?

24 people per class as a maximum? In my Advanced English class, I have 34. Advanced Math is around 28.

    Advice on my school.

It depends. If you have friends at your old school, take into account that it does help to have someone you know around. While you may concentrate without them, with them you can teach (which reinterates the concept to you), and hear their take on a topic your struggling with. As for the...

    School

Yeah, I'm not sick of year 11 yet. I'm enjoying all my subjects, mostly Extension English and Chemistry. I am yet to start studying, once we have covered more work so that I can actually start studying, I will. I've only got about 1 hours worth of homework each night so far, so its fairly relaxed.

Do people expect to manage jobs/year 11?

Thanks guys, Yes, between my two jobs I work around 4 shifts a week, some going into 8 hours. I hope to maintain it for the distraction/work experience, but if it becomes too much, I will cut down.

Do people expect to manage jobs/year 11?

Hey guys, Just wondering, how many people out there hold part time jobs, and will continue to do so into year 11-12? Are you more dedicated to your study, or do you aim to do both? As for me, I have two part time jobs, so I'm starting to re-think the work load involved with my subjects...

    14 units too much?

Thats the same problem I'm facing; I'm doing 15 units this year, granted that my TAFE cource of Animal Care counts for 2 units, so I'm doing 13 through school. I would have to say that I think you can get away with 14 units through year 11. Not much of your marks will count towards the HSC, and...

    Timetable

I don't have any free periods...unless you count not going to Physics last period every Thursday to go to TAFE for Animal Care. I guess that is the cost of Freedom.

Who here didnt get into what they wanted for subject selections?

My school only ran one Modern History class, which I wanted to take, but it ended up clashing with General Math, so I took Ancient History.

    ATAR aims

98.3- Extremly, insanely happy 95- Very Proud 90- Ok 99.95- Happy and a full belly from my free lunch =)

Will choosing 'Creative' subjects lower my atar?

As long as you have an interest in what you will be learning, you have just as much a chance of getting a great ATAR as someone who took the more 'academicly demanding' cources. It sounds like you have a passion for your choices, so I think you'll do great :)

    free chem notes... for free

    Thank You! :)

How do rankings of schools affect your HSC mark?

Wait, so what is the cohort? Is it your fellow schoolmates in your year in your school, or is it the total amount of students in your year across the state/country? Does this mean, with my school ranked in the 400's, that if I go well in both external and internal exams, that my ATAR will be...

how do you achieve band 6's in the school certificate?

I am tempted to respond like everyone else, telling you to relax and what not. However, I was once freaking out like you, and no matter how much everyone told me that it didn't matter, I didn't trust them. The best things you can do is to start of basic. Run through each of the online practice...
