    Induction problem can anyone help??

You can use both sides of the equation in MI. In other words, you don't just have to manipulate the LHS. You can use the RHS. Or you can manipulate on side to a point, then manipulate the other to the same point. That's still showing they're the same =]

    Tricky Derivative Question

^^ nice job =] would just like to add that I don't think you'd need to show concavity of the point of inflexion, y''=0 is enough.

Are you looking forward to getting your HSC results?

mate she's just acknowledging that her parents have done so much for her over the HSC. There's a difference between "making them proud" and "meeting their expectations" I feel the same. Mum expects nothing of me, but she has been so amazing, I want to get a result that really validates all...

What are you looking forward to most after the SC?

Conquering Chemistry is good at covering each of the dot-points and explaining concepts that you're having difficulty with. I used it to supplement my school-provided textbook, Chemistry Contexts. I found Chem Contexts was a lot more in depth on most of the course, but some parts it skimped on...

Are you looking forward to getting your HSC results?

According to my ranks, I'm meant to do really well in my HSC... So if I do really crap, it's gonna be really embarrassing!! all of the social expectation and pressure... then people start asking "what did you get?!?!" "Erm..." Hahaha... ahh, too relaxed to really care atm =D But the...

    Not making it...

... i think now is an opportune moment to point out that i was joking =P Actually though, i was seriously considering teaching at one stage. But medicine is the direction i'm going (eventually...!) Hey, don't give up on yourself. there's really no justifiable reason to be so hard on...

    Not making it...

I think I would be pretty cut down if I didn't make it to 90+. Don't get me wrong, I don't think marks below 90 are bad in any way - I've just worked pretty hard, and anything less would be a slap in the face. But I only need around 85+ for B Biomed at Newcastle [94.3 was what I was...

    Cracking Help

^^ agreeing with everyone here =] BUT would just like to add that for the chemistry syllabus, and according to HSC marker Patricia Stockbridge, we are only required to know about catalytic cracking and NOT thermal/steam cracking for our exams =]

    Disadvantages for Iodine-131 and Americium-241

Hey, I studied Americium-241 too. Don't bother learning another one now! Here's the points that I referred to: DISADVANTAGES Safety concerns - Inhalation/ingestion causes adverse health effects. The settling of Am-241 on skeletal structures or the liver may impair the production of red...

    Multiple choice

I still reckon 14 is punctuated equilibrium. I mean, I could be wrong... But just looking at the generations beside the diagram - it indicated a lengthy period of stasis, followed by a period of rapid change in the demographics of the bunny population. I can see why it might be thought...

    should i do chem?

yay for chem and bio!! they are mad topics, really fun. Chem, i found more 'general' in yr 11, and it had a more industrial focus in yr 12. Bio - good in yr 11, but gets even better in yr 12 =D [It's pretty much all human biology for hsc! love it!!] Are you doing physics because u...

    funky question

I don't really know aye... ? Esters aren't highly reactive, so erm I don't think anything would happen. Anyone feel free to correct me here! Good point - all neutralisation reactions are exothermic, it's all coming back! That sounds a little easier than messing with the CO2, but if asked...

    funky question

So the test with the sodium carbonate - it's just doing the general reaction: acid + metal carbonate --> metal salt + CO2 + H2O so from there, you'd have to collect any gas that came out of the reaction vessel and bubble it through some limewater. If it goes milky, you've confirmed the...

    Multiple choice

    Nar, if you think about the double-stranded DNA - you have a complement for every base pair. Therefore, in total, for every A there should be a T, and for every C a G. Thus, A = T = 30% and C = G = 20%
