    2016ers Chit-Chat Thread

Haha I have a friend exactly like that. It was funny because in year 7 everybody else was going through their weird voice stage, testipops every second sentence, and me and my friend are just sitting there with the voice of a 40 year old man. It was pretty cool.

    2016ers Chit-Chat Thread

Haha almost. It was in between light stubble and heavy stubble. It also helped that my voice fully cracked in year 5.

    Yr 9 Science Question pls

It might also be thinking outside the box. So originally, it was arranged by atomic weight, because that's what the scientists wanted to do. But Mendeleev had other ideas, a one of his 'creative' ideas was that the elements were not related by the atomic weight, but rather, their atomic number.

Haha me and my friend were offered beer at a pub when we were 14 and our parents were still outside.

    Roll Call: Class of 2016

So am I asian or white? I'm kind of unsure now.

    complex number questions

Haha didn't even think of doing the sum of roots.

    complex number questions

    Ok so first of all substitute in z = 1 + 2i (1+2i)^2 - ai(1+2i) + b = 0 1 + 4i -4 - ai +2a + b = 0 (2a + b - 3) + i(4 - a) = 0 (real and imaginary parts) as both the real and imaginary parts have to be 0, we know: 2a + b - 3 = 0 and 4 - a = 0 So from the right equation, we get a = 4, so we...

    complex number questions

I'll try and do it soon, but first of all you would substute z=1+2i into the equation, to get an equation for a and b.

    Yr 9 Science Question pls

I can't exactly remember who or how they arranged the periodic table, but from what I remember, some guy noticed similarities between certain elements (which are now in the same group), but previously these elements weren't directly related on the periodic table. He proposed that the periodic...

    Internal Marks and External Marks?

I think that will only cause a problem for the second student, unless the second student beats the first in the externals.
  13. C

    derivative question

Oh, I was getting the impression that it was (37^42)+ln(x), not 37^(42+ln(x))

    How to draw this graph?

Find where the equation in the absolute value is greater than 0 and where the equation is less than zero. Where the equation is greater than zero, the line you draw will be y=2x-3, and where the equation is less than 0, you draw the negative version of the equation, so y=-2x+3. This is because...

Which schools do y'all go to?

Lol really? Did you know some guy with an afro in the year below you a couple years ago? Inangaro?

    Vertex, focus, directrix question

I don't remember the equations fully, I just think it through. For an parabola that goes up, the y-values are increasing so 4a is positive and vice-versa for negative, and for the parabolas going to the right, the x-values are increasing so it's 4a is positive and vice versa for a parabolas...

    Need help with a question

Yeah that was a good explanation, I did it the same but I wouldn't of explained it as good as you.

    Oh lol silly mistake.
