    Inverse Trig. Differentiation

    $We want to manipulate our expression so it is in the form $y=\sin^{-1} \left( \frac{x-b}{a}\right )$ if we want to use that formula (the formula still works when you replace $x$ with $x-b$ as long it is a monic linear function):$\\\\\indent y = \sin^{-1} \left( \frac{2x-1}{3}\right...

    Help with differentiation question

    $From part 1), you found that: $ \frac{d}{dx}\left[(9-x^2)^{\frac{1}{2}} \right ]=-x(9-x^2)^{-\frac{1}{2}}\\\\\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\indent\:\:=\frac{-x}{(9-x^2)^{\frac{1}{2}} }\\\\$You are trying to find ${\displaystyle}\int...

    How fast do you write?

    Apart from practice, I recommend using a pen which you feel most comfortable writing with (e.g. one with a grip). From my experience in HSC, I used a light-weight, inky pen which allowed me to write fluidly which was very helpful. You don't want to use a pen which feels like you are painfully...

    trigonometry questions :)

    $For the second part:$\\\\$LHS$=(k-1)\sin(A+B)\\\\=(k-1)(sinAcosB+sinBcosA).\\\\$ Ok so if we stop to look at the RHS, you can see that our aim here is to get rid of$ (k-1) $and replace it with $(k+1)$ and somehow change to sin(A-B). This is where we can use $\tan A=k\tan B.$ If you look at our...

    trigonometry questions :)

    $So we are given that $ \tan x=t.$ Usually with these sort of trig problems you will firstly draw a triangle with the trigonometric ratio (you will see how it is useful later): *see attachment* $ \\\\$You can work out the hypotenuse to be $\sqrt{1+t^2}$ using Pythagora's Theorem.\\\\So now we...

    Rationalising the denominator

    You type in codes in something called LaTex form (you can use the program "Online Latex Equation Editor" to test it out) and different codes correspond to a different symbol. If you want to post it here you put the code between "[ tex ]" and "[ /tex ]" (just without the spaces of course). For...

    I think your expansion of the numerator in 2nd fraction from 2nd to 3rd line should be "9Root2+3Root5"
